Running through thick bushes and similar plants makes loud leaf crinkling sounds
As it is, foliage makes zero sounds when colliding with players. Having it so that when players run through bushes makes audibly distinct leaf crinkling and brushing sounds when passing through them can add immersion and gameplay mechanics.
In addition, larger payables should make sharper twig snapping sounds on top of these to add to their sense of weight and by extension, the danger they impose to others that can hear it.
Crouching, "Z" walking or even special abilities negate any sound made.

Then a simple compromise would be to make it not play sounds for creatures below a weight threshold or passive abilities. Medium and larger dinos can make distinct sounds whereas babies, smaller dinos and those with low stealthy profiles (Megalania) can make zero sounds naturally.
Another suggestion is to just change or add a layer to the footstep sound effects. Make it so these sounds play on top of the default footsteps, but at the same volume as the base footsteps. This makes it so that it players can still sneak through foliage as though they were in the open, but clever players can discern that the unique sound is from a bush patch, similar to when players step through shallow rivers and lakes. -

AnonI disagree, not that is isn't cool, but for the smaller dinosaurs and babies who rely on the bushes to hide, or get away from predators.
This mechanic would take away a whole defensive strategy, ruin stealth tactics for dinos that rely on stealth, and make get aways much more difficult.
