Change Sound Travel Distance, Keep Sneaking Steps Quiet
Currently with the new update, both the distance at which sound travels was dramatically reduced, as well as crouch footsteps being silenced.
Footsteps regardless of weight, running/walking/crouching is only audible within (roughly) 5 body-lengths of your creature. This makes sneaking redundant, and also as an unintended side effect, makes the world feel empty because you just walk by others without ever knowing they're there.
I think the sound travel distance should be reverted, either back to how it was, or have sound travel based on weight (ex. higher combat weight = father the sound travels for steps.), as well as movement (walk/run/crouch) while keeping the sneaking footsteps quiet. This brings back the usefulness of sneaking, while also making the world open back up with encounters.

Also think something has to be done, what's the point of sneaking around if you can't tell there's anything even around, all we have now is hope someone will actually walk into you becouse it's not possible to go by just visual input, i would personaly think of extending calls range even beyond current dino render distance to carry on and then footsteps to various degree how they were before, with the exception of actual sneaking which should be hard to detect for how slow it is, also all kinds of shore waves, streams and ocean need fixing and some improvement aswell. -

fiishfaceBig yes from me. With no scent system and horrible visibility in most biomes, sound was pretty much the only way to actually tell if a player was nearby. Now, you can't hear anything until they're basically right next to you (or if they're spamming broadcasts).
It also doesn't.. make any sense for a lot of these dinos to make zero noise whatsoever until they're a couple meters from you. Eo? Yeah man, the 22-ton tank of an herbivore can definitely sneak like a mouse. These dinosaurs with sensitive hearing definitely wouldn't hear it stomping around from across the river!
