Personally, I really dislike the new audio changes. I’ve turned the music off completely, to see if it’ll help. I can’t hear anyone, unless they’re almost on me. I know some people thought it was too loud before, but now it feels really empty and lonely, since I can’t hear other players moving or fighting in the area around me. Even with really expensive headphones, I’m just not hearing as much as I feel we should be able to. It would be cool if they could do a slider for footsteps volume in the settings. -

ArtiFootstep audio went from being too loud to way too quiet, I agree. You can't hear running and trotting footsteps of something 20 feet away from you. I get crouch walking should be quiet, but all other footsteps are way too inaudible.

Anonymous potato chipI honestly HATE the new sound updates. We went completely from one extreme to the other. There’s got to be a middle ground. I can’t hear any calls until the other player is practically inside my character, no joke, had an allo scream at me with the aggressive call from like 20 feet away and heard absolutely nothing.
While the playables shouldn’t sound like they are walking around with drums tied to their feet, they also shouldn’t not make a single sound when moving. Footstep sound needs to scale with walking speed and size (to an extent-since some large animals can be surprisingly quiet depending on the structure of their feet).
As it is now though, the entire map feels dead, outside a group it just feels like you’re the only one around, I have now experienced what oppressive silence means in a game lmao. -

CreepyCrawleyYea, totally agree on that. I am a carnivore relaying on prey to survive. Now it is more difficult to hear other dinosaurs. It would be cool if the sound is related to combat weight. It would be cool also that carnivore that have hunting behavior have a better audition then herbivore.

SubtleFootsteps could be adjusted to be heard at a standard distance for each type of dino, and then have a standardized audibility for crouching footsteps for all dinos that is very quiet so ambushers can still have some advantage when putting in effort to ambush.

PRDIt would be nice for footsteps to be louder again. They don't even need to be as loud as they were before but definitely louder than currently. Also potentially have a larger amount of sound comparatively when hitting sub adult and higher.. allowing new younger players of safer chance for growth. The kind of makes sense that when smaller things would be a little bit more cautious and quieter and then when they get bigger becoming more brazen and less cautious. Also incrementing to studies T-Rex had padded feet. I know according to game mechanics they do need to be louder than none apexes but perhaps softer than other apexes
