  @ R this is true. Pick a passive growth server and it might take as little as a few minutes to a few hours to grow a dino to adulthood. The passive growth typically just gets accelerated with mark gathering rather then replacing it.

  Why not try community servers if you want rules? This entire suggestion seems very wanting the game to bend to your personal tastes if I'll be honist. On one hand you talk about realism with the size of creatures vs each other and on the other you want predators to ignore young creatures which is no longer about realism at all but more a "it's a game" frustration at babykillers thing (which I get but are we arguing the game should be more realistic or easyer). Then you want to ban an entire playstyle because you don't like it rather then saying larger creatures should have their persise turn buffed or something so you can aim at those darty players better.

  I see this as more of a problem with turn radius based combat. Sure, it promotes skill and makes larger dinosaurs feel heavy, but it also leads to some funky matchups like what you mentioned and can actually negate skill from a lot of matchups. I think Alderon would do well to give turn radius based combat the back seat and experiment with giving the spotlight to some other combat parameters such as timing.

  If you don't play solo then please don't comment. If you had any help growing a Dino don't comment. I'm saying your input is trash I'm just saying that unless you've spent hours growing a dinosaur only to be killed by something 1/3 your size that refuses to fight and would rather tail ride and run away. Then you don't understand my problem with the combat system. And picking on new dinosaurs whether they are veteran players or not isn't cool. All I'm asking is for there to be a level of fairness for players just trying to enjoy the game. As well as a level of fairness towards solo players who prefer to grind at their pace without fear of getting killed every 30 seconds. As far as community servers are concerned you have to join the respected discord in order to get the list of rules tied to that server. It takes away from the whole experience of playing solo.

  What a dino can and cannot kill is not dictated by size, but rather skill. With enough skill, even the smallest ones can kill the bigger ones.
  Also, agreeing with Rhiannon, if you wish to have rules, then play on a community server that has the rules you are looking for - yes, that does mean you usually have to join their discord to access the rules, but that's something you'll have to accept if you really want to play with those rules in place. You're not forced to otherwise interact with anyone else, so you can keep playing solo.
  Officials will never have gameplay rules, it's always going to be a completely neutral place where players can do whatever they want - for better or for worse.

  I exclusively play solo. I don't know whether the snark comment was at me or Remmy but this has nothing to do with me or anyone else being gang bangers. In my case my issue with the thread is more to do with rules on a offical server that presumibly would require admins to warn then ban people for breaking when balancing issues could easily been helped via changing how the big dinos play. You wanna know how I grew my dinos? By being good at hideing and running. And yes, I had stuff get nuked by raptors too but maybe that's not because the raptors are inherently jerks who should be punished and instead is because of in-game mechanics. Maybe rexes and stuff should have a chance of oneshotting small critters like that so they're more hesitant about rushing. Maybe they need more turn radious or a more flexible directional bite. Point is, why use a rule list people have to remember when we could use mechanics. This issue seems super mechanic possible to me.

  I ran out of space so I'm adding....turn radius. Turn radius turn radius. TURN RADIUS! Bigger creatures could use more of it. If hit and run is a problum it's mostly turn radius and maybe a bit of power stuff. Truth be told some of the apexes are underpowered. This is partly because they're just not agile. But even if they can't chase down a darty thing, said darty thing could be killed if the biggy had better turn radius. Raptors should take something unusual because they really played well and confused the target not because the target can't turn properly. Perhaps young apexes should automatically have two attacks so a tail or back leg slot can cover their rear. Make wins vs. losses more or less likely based on the real power of the animal and players not exploits. Is this getting to where I'm trying to get at? Fix the stratigy don't blame and punish it. The problum here isn't actually the darty things in the first place. It's that apexes kind of suck.

  No offense to anyone here. I just feel like im being misunderstood. I'm not saying I don't mind dying and I do understand the whole stragy thing. I don't play for the combat or the stragy. I simply play to have fun and getting killed over and over and over again is bull. why should I be forced to play on a community server which will inevitably force me to join a discord group or party. All I simply wish to do is log in and forget my stressful day for a few hours. Plus if I join a community server I'll have to start all over again. It's taken me weeks to grow one Dino to full growth. So yes I'm entitled to be frustrated about getting killed simply because I choose to play solo. I dont wish to have to start over again and waste another untold amount of time regrowing my Dino. Just to be simply hunted on the community server because I make an easy target. My issue is the fact that this game NO MATTER how you play or what server has little fairness towards solo players.

  Why should we be forced to adhear to one player's rules? Or any one group's rules? You realize if we make a list of rules for official then there's no difference between it and a community server exept now there is no alternative. You might even still be asked to join their discord. I get not wanting to have to have discord. But you can't just turn the official into a community server and expect everyone to go along with it. Particularly if your rules start punishing playstyles and set limits the game doesn't. Even for the most reasonable one being mad about being baby nuked this shouldn't be a RULE if they add it. It should be a mechanic. Maybe babys shouldn't loose growth when they die or at least not player caused ungrowth (all baby deaths just treat it like you fell off a cliff which isn't nearly as bad a setback). Maybe there should be a nesting ground where dinos under a certian age are safe.
  Rule's lists are tedious, ok? Mechanics are simple and inarguable. At least in-game.

  Ran out of space again but not done. Mechanics aren't perfect either but at least they are only arguable on a forum like this one and not on the fly in the game requiring everyone to be a rules lawyer. Homecaves are a good example because they wonderfully showcase the unfortunate fact that if there is a loophole, somebody will find it. They've been changed several times trying to accommodate this and rules would have changed a bunch too but at least mechanics are solidly THERE while a rule may require an entire debate with an admin unless that admin decides to just ban hammer which is its own can of worms. Particularly if in their irritation or perhaps just exhaustion being at the end of their shift they ban someone who didn't deserve it. Someone who didn't know they had crossed an invisible line while fighting or something and now they're just locked out of their characters untill it gets resolved. It's just hassel. Stress on everyone involved admin and player alike. Rule<Mechanics.

  Community servers have passive growth and you can grow very fast in some servers in community servers.

  I'm not saying make the official servers like the community servers. All I'm asking is that rules be put in place to make the combat system fair and enjoyable for players like myself that play solo with basically zero skill in combat simply because I would rather play PVE instead of PVP. As it stands that's not possible no matter what server you play on community or official. If you have zero combat skill or zero Strategy. You exist only to be killed repeatedly by PVP players. Meaning if you want to play this game as a means to relax then you won't ever get a chance to enjoy your experience.

  @ Brent but you ARE saying to make official like community servers because rules lists are one of the main tedious things about community servers and it's the main thing they ask you to go to discord to read. I'm saying be a little creative and suggest mechanic changes that would do the same thing the rules would have without the arguments between players and admins and potential for admin abuse and requirement to remember a list of rules that WILL grow as people find loopholes because they will and it will be annoying. There are two differences between community servers and offical. 1. Ownership's preferences. 2. Rules lists.
  Keep the arguments on the forum and out of the game. The chat is garbage enough without "Admin! Rulebreak! Please ban XoXoPancake!" "Wait what did I do?" "Admin I videoed the rulebreak!" "Ok but what did I do?"
  I litterally even suggested a few solutions that would help with some of your issues without it being rules.

  I'm not trying to be a jerk. I just think rules lists are a dated usually very biased method of fixing problums and there are much better ways to do it at the level of advanced games are right now. Community servers use them because they aren't the game devs. They can't manipulate the code to the way the devs can and so they use rules to make the game how they want. They use discord because it's a site you don't have to pay for and typically there's too many rules to put in the log in announcement (because people find loopholes forcing servers that wanted simple rules to keep adding more every time someone found a way to abuse something). Offical doesn't need a rules list. They could litterally just make babys immune to damage up untill a certian age or make part of the map an area that gives dino's bellow a certian immunty but inability to harm others too. It wouldn't even require an admin sitting around for hours trying to figure out who broke what rule when things get complicated.

  (Space limits) Granted I do have some issues with some of your ideas of what is unfair. Like the idea of hit and run tactics being inherently bad but this just highlights another issue with rules lists. Players will ask why they can't do a thing the game allows them to do. For good reason! Particularly when it comes pretty naturally to certian playables and it would be very easy to just make apexes able to turn better when holding precise movement. From your average raptor player's point of veiw why is it their fault the apex can't turn to bite them. Why do they have to activly limit themselves to allow the apexes power rather then the game giving the apex's power? That spesific example isn't some subtle thing. It's very basic mechanics. The raptor player isn't doing some kind of big chess play speedrunner pro game knowlage metagaming. They're using a darty animal like a darty animal. The problum isn't on their end. The apexes are the ones who need work. I got heated but this my issue.

  I'm not commenting to poke a fire here again. I just thought of something. If you really just want to explore a map and not interact with anybody the game does have singleplayer. It doesn't have much in terms of danger and could really use some NPCs or something but it is available and you can wander maps questing, grow a dino. Decorate your homecave. You can even use the same character across maps in singleplayer (still currently limits flyers and full aquatics on Panjura which is a shame but don't worry. They aren't deleted just because they don't show up there). I like to use it to explore the community made maps and check out modded creatures. Map wandering in particular can be quite fun since seeing new environments makes up for the lack of people to some extent.

  I appreciate the feedback. I want to apologize if I've offended or upset anyone who has read my comments or the feed back. I understand and agree that there are game mechanics that could help/fix the gameplay, however, it doesn't change the fact that this game is unbalanced and unfair. A Megalania should not be able to take down an Adult Eourotrike simply because in game the Meg is the size of a full grown Komodo. When in reality full grown would have been somewhere between 16ft-28ft if not bigger. That is the reason for my complaint. Something so small in game shouldn't be able to take on a massive creature like a Trike. And yes i agree that the apex are slow. It makes their best and strongest attacks way to easy to dodge. Which in turn makes them pointless. The smaller Dinos know this and exploit it. Which in my Opinion is not a strategy but an unfair advantage. Again my problem is towards the fairness of the game play not with other players.

  I love the game but playing as an apex is just a punching bag for ankle biters, cause of the bad turning radius I spend most of the time as an apex spinning around while getting nibbled to death, I have more chances of actually winning in pvp as a smaller Dino, I know they’re trying to balance the game by giving big apex bad turning radius, tail attack is good but it doesn’t do much damage especially if your getting jumped tail swing is no help, this balancing is only giving advantage to pack players and tail riders it’s not a balance for apex players, I just wish they fix this turning radius problem
