Don't lose marks exponentially.
I was questing my duck for hours, had 8k marks saved up. Got ambushed and killed. Tell me why was there any reason for me to lose 2k marks. That's hours of grinding. Specially on a slow moving dinosaur. Will be uninstalling and getting a refund until this issue is resolved.

It makes me not want to PvP until I have everything unlocked on my Dino and have my skin I want for that Dino fully unlocked too.
It's an odd concept to punish you for losing a fight in a PvP, where players are encouraged to fight and attack each other. For every PvP winner there is a loser, so players are constantly having a double whammy punishment every time PvP happens in this PvP game.
I can deal with the growth loss after hitting adult because it encourages you to go and focus on something else between fights, gives people time to cool down a bit but I don't think there should be growth and marks lost, especially when so many abilities are over priced for what they actually do and I don't think anything below the mid growth range of sub adult should lose growth because it's hard growing in a game where all the old players want to kill every new player, even though they are usually herbivores and have no reason to "PvP" a baby -

Jesiah2k it’s actually wild. They need to tone that down or make a bank to store marks at home caves like another player suggested.

CharmielleIt should be rebalanced for sure. The penalty for dying to a player when you’re grinding marks is STEEP; put it on a map that already gives fewer marks for quests and it just makes the game super grindy and a bore. This is something that has actually put me to sleep at my keyboard before lol (yeah I died so lost any progress I made)

AstalphThe Mark Death Penalty is needed. It takes a percentage of your Marks. Dying is MEANT to hurt.

BiterPlayers should use the less well travelled areas of the map for questing and to avoid losing marks.
As soon as a player has all their abilities it feels like they move onto the hotspots. You can already fully level up even an apex in less than 10 hours
