You shouldn’t need an internet connection when playing single player it doesn’t make sense. And also, adding dinosaur AI will help out those who prefer single player or those who can’t find food on a multiplayer server because carrion and sometimes critters are hard to come by especially in single player!

Internet connection will always be needed to connect to your account which makes this feature not planned.
Dinosaur AI is however confirmed and planned.
