Sexual Dimorphism
While it is interesting to see male and female skins, they don’t really give the look of different genders between male and female animals. Especially when animals with crests are shown major sexual dimorphism differences. Male Lambeosaurus’ crests should be larger while females have smaller ones. While some of the animals here don’t really show it, Lambeosaurus is definitely a stand out when it comes to the lack of sexual dimorphism. Giving animals sexual dimorphic looks to help distinguish males and females adds even more immersion to the game with players experiencing ways the animals look and feel.

VEPP+1 and it would be neat to have size be part of this dimorphism, keeping in mind that there are plenty of species where the females are bigger than the males.

DapperWolfyep please make dimorphism clearly distinguishable for all species, either by model, calls, or animations. i just need to be able to see if it is male or female. at the very least a scent mechanic could help you identify male from female too.

Envirobridge98I think this would be really helpful when the mating and nesting update comes out

SimplyPhoenixThere also should be different stats for the different genders so that way it adds things to combat and it should be adding in the mating and nesting update.

SamSize difference would be cool. Maybe males bigger for some groups of species and females bigger for others. With birds its like that : females bigger in diurnal birds of prey and males bigger in loons. Birds are dinosaurs so probably the best examples we can use for fictional realism.

ADinoNerd_713In prior extinction this was a thing and it worked very well for that game, I would love to see this in PoT.

As someone who plays female sometimes it’s quite disappointing to have the dullest skins in the name of “realism”, and the possibility of now being very obviously different is stressful. Someone of us like to be real to ourselves and not to some game world, having to play a certain sex because I want to look the way I want it ridiculous to say the least -

Shadow_bro_1They should make it so males get darker colours and females get lighter colours

RufuussinYes, it would be very interesting if there were clearer sexual dimorphism, since it is impossible to recognize the sex of the animal at first sight. I like females more because I prefer Skins more and Darker. But what is the need to know the sex of the animal? Well, the realism, and the immersion! If the game is about dinosaurs, make sure the dinosaurs are realistic.

FullmetalWouldn’t be fair to have them be different sizes, but color or some other feature being different would be a welcome addition.
