Dinosaur Infection/Disease/parasite Debuffs
Something to add more threats to the game beyond just players, food, and water! You can't have survival without potentially deadly pathogens! I'd imagine it'd work like the bone break debuff, but with varying effects for whatever kind of disease/parasite it was such as an increased food drain for a tapeworm-like debuff. Some diseases could even have a minor visual effect later on or have a passing chance to spread to other players that eat your corpse, or find a dirty corpse. Some example disease ideas: Trichomonas, Dinosaur Flu, Infected wounds etc.

That sounds awful especially if there isn't something that could cure you readily available. Dying already is a huge cost. -

LeticheOh for sure. I forgot to add that to my suggestion, but there would probably be some environmental cures to prevent frustration, like the various nuts, herbs, and flowers around to fix certain conditions.

Envirobridge98Honestly this would be great and would actually give microraptor a purpose if they give it an attachment ability as a way to ward off parasites

ew100535another one could be a respiratory infection because we have fossil evidence of this happening in sauropods this can probably debuff stamina

Ketchupthe3rdIt would be cool to be a predator and pick out the sick and injured as targets.

S_TenerensisOoo and then you could get a quest to find a plant or other item that may serve as a cure or cut the time on the debuff! Love this. Give me more survival in my dino survival game. :D

JimboRamphy could feed on parasites. And eating carrion without a diet could make you sick.

ROTTMNTLoverThis would be a great way to get players to move around from place to place. Imagine if it made your creature sick to be in a large group of dinosaurs that didn’t have your diet, or if the water became toxic within a certain radius of smthn dead, like a player corpse below 50% or pieces of meat in the water, and then you could clean it out with salt rocks, some kind of grass, or etc, for a quest? It would also discourage players from killing everything if they might get sick and die of injury! I love this idea! You could also implement ways to avoid becoming sick such as cleaning your dino in water or sand/mud/dust to avoid parasites. This would be AWESOME!!!

ROTTMNTLoverImagine: Dirty water can make you sick and being in close proximity of opp diets for too long will give you fleas or smthn, absolutely wonderful that this is planned.
You could help keep your creature from getting infections and disease by bathing in dust, sun, certain plants (like the moss bed quests across the riparia and Gondwa maps), clean water, and mud, which would ALSo be an excellent way to counteract a scent system if they’d implement that >:DDDDD IT WOULD END MIXPACKS!?!
