  Oh dear god yes. This would also be a great replacement for how most people use external maps like Vulnona's to find things. Having your own in-game map markers would be much nicer and less immersion-breaking (or, better yet... game auto-places an indicator if you have discovered something once yourself.)
  
  Alternatively, I'd be willing to accept the current markerless way, if they actually implement some kind of good Scent system which when activated helps you locate food and fresh water (and low % water doesn't get detected). Either way, the game needs help in the navigational area like this, anything so I (and many others) aren't checking an external map. That's not fun.

  building your own map is fun and this would really streamline the process of it instead of using outside sources for that very thing!

  Please we need to have a marker set on location of carcasses and critter dens that have been found of a sent system like explained previously, heck why not both that sent system only identifies players and carcasses for carnivores and for herbivores it identifies berries and players

  We were actually talking about this in group the other day and thought up that maybe JUST in group the markers would work.
  Like your dino scents an area, and those in the group can see a basic AOE scent marker on the map, as they get closer it focuses and gets smaller until they are in the correct area.
  That way its not a full game X marks the spot, but a more realistic way that Dino's would have left markers.

  the big thing would be nice to permanently mark certain locations. Like corpses found, borrows, clean water sources so as you play you can build your map the way you want to see it.

  This is a great idea I hope they do implement a place marker on the map. I wished they had a compass as well so I know what direction I'm going. Please everyone up vote this. The OP deserves support for the big brain Idea

  This is something I would love, and important that your group can see them, so if they are looking for flowers you can mark it for them.

  I was talking about this the other day. Even if its just for solo and group. A dino can "mark" a single area as (for example) a yellow waypoint marker to return or show group memebers where to go.

  Oh yes! Being able to mark your map by yourself would be very fun and also so useful! either it'd be for marking things we found or simply to ark a destination for our group to go!

  I found a secret source of water somewhere on Gondwa. It was a pool in one of the small caves. Unfortunately I could never find it again. This feature might have allowed me to make more use of it.

  Yes, please. This would be great. Maybe even a way to set our own 3D markers. I'm constantly tabbing out of the game to use a 3rd party map. I'm much rather be able to make my own map markers for things.

  Omg Yesssss... This should've been a thing long before now! My husband and i just started playing a few days ago, and well... we partake in "puffy time" in the evenings while we play... IT TOOK US 30 MINUTES to travel across the map b/c we had to stop and open the map and redirect ourselves every couple of mins!!! lol
