MEGAMAP: Combine all three maps.
Combining all three maps into one big MMO world will add a real sense of travel and exploration.
Additionally, will drastically cut down on the number of servers needed at a given time,
and drastically simplify the means of moving player characters between them.
Many, many other benefits could come from this, including aspects of PVP interaction, PVE, discovery, and progression, not to mention the expanded possibility for quests, territories, waystone mechanics, possible discovery of Lore and worldbuilding, etc.
Will add any future additional thoughts to the comments.

Ultimately, each map has its own ecosystem of players, with learned behaviors, strategies, and player densities, which provides choices for players. If a player is bored with one map and how the players act on it, they can switch to another map whenever they want, and still have a different experience. Which adds some replayability to the game as it stands.
Homogenizing all three maps and map "cultures" into one huge map would fundamentally erode the behavioral diversity each of the maps have. And make the online experience more redundant.
This experiment overall wouldn't really be good for player experience, might save up on back end resources, and save Alderon some money in the long run, but variability would be lost to a big degree.
If the mega map is an additional choice matchmaking offers, by all means, but if the intent is to delete the other standalone map modes, no thank you. -

BoogeymanYTThat map layout would slap. Imagine dying in GLL in Panjura and Spawning in Dryfang in Riparia 🤣. I’m here for it. Take my upvote

IndoraptoadThough I think the idea would be really interesting, and it offers a new take on the conundrum of cross-map merging for playables, there inevitably would still be hotspots, and this would make spawning in an unpopulated corner of the map really frustrating, especially for slower playables. The clear disconnects between the three segments would also still enforce separate populations in each map, making gameplay for terrestrials pretty much the same as currently while making semi-aquatics even clearer as the superior choice, which is already an issue Riparia faces for many.

FlippzyI think the idealogy is nice and all, but right now I feel like it's not the time to worry about a Megamap. There's so much more stuff that should be prioritized like remodels, retextures, and quests
By combining one bad map and decent ones you won't make a good map. Travel could also become an immense issue for it as the maps will be divided by water and have a lot of filler pois. Nobody will use the POIs that are ignored just because it's a mega map people will just hoard towards the main pois they already know. I could see this easily backfiring into more huge groups or just diving the population between 3 three maps to be effectively separated servers or something like that
If we are gonna merge the maps, while not something that should be priority imo, the best way to do so is my mixing POIs instead into a new map. For example, GLL that connects to GP without GPR or DFC that connects with Rockfall hills and stuff like that. The best from each map to try and make a good map -

LautipepoZI do agree with indo's comment, but i think there could be a solution. They could adapt the maps and not just copy and paste them, so the transitions between them feel natural. The maps could be in another position/closer to eachother to make them feel more connected.
If Panjura TLC and Gondwa TLC end up happening, they could be planned and made to better fit in with Riparia, and maybe solve these potential issues when making the megamap.
Riparia could get some touch ups too, since something that Gondwa does good is its verticality, because there are better paths to go up in Gondwa. But in Riparia, there is a lot of hills and no accessible way to go up them, making going to the south, southwest, west and northwest parts of the map very complicated, and thats why there are usually not many people in those places -

AKmightydinoolove the idea! though it will feel empty, player count needs to be 700 or more for it to work

SunDogsFunDogsvery interested in this idea! i would really, really love to have large open ocean zones. i love riparia but i feel like its ocean zones are a little claustrophobic as they are now.

SolaI think this is a aweful idea.
This completely invalidates the year long work on matchmaking. Wasting time, money, and resources used on it. If there are very few servers it will be easy for discord groups to join the same server together. It would be throwing away all of the development for what? As is a discord group can get in 10-20 before running into the issue of a server being full. Once you make a super server, that limitation goes away and now no one can play on Gondwa or travel through it. Or use whatever area they decide to dominate.
I feel this is throwing away so many other priorities. Where is the nesting update we were promised? What happened to the PvP modes we tested? The dinosaur A.I.? Why are we looking to pour resources into a it's not broke so don't fix it situation, rather then the many, many issues we do have? I've run out of characters, but I could go on. Please dedicate the development time to what you started and promised and even tested. Not this. -

AnonOnly problem I see would be having enough players to actually fill it. When they get 200+ servers going it would help but for a map that would be so large? (Unless they can some how shrink it) they'd still need probably a good 400 players to make it not be empty.
And I imagine so many people would cause really bad lag.
Edit: After reading through the comments I was made aware of some other potential issues but I still like the idea, I just wouldn't remove the separate map choices either. Though I'm sure there are fixes for some of the issues that others have presented to actually make such a map feel good to play and space players out so it's not empty. -

MetriThat would be really interesting to see! although the player count would need to be really high so that the map doesn't feel lonely

FenixThe Concept of a megamap is fun and all. But it’s the least of this game’s concerns currently. The cons outweigh the pros. All of the maps have problems need fixing, and combining them won’t do any good. Travelling would also be seriously annoying if you’re solo since it’s insanely risky and with there would be many, many ways on how to cheese this megamap in order to make it miserable for anyone that wants to play anything that isn’t an aquatic. The game has way bigger problems to deal with instead of bothering with a megamap, a map this big without matchmaking is just begging for bigger groups to make bigger problems. a fully fleshed out and thought about concept in the future AFTER gondwa and panjura get their tlcs alongside matchmaking might seem promising, but currently? it’s just not it.
