Allow community servers to limit what they want for the sake of the server's vision
I know in the TOS certain skins and payables cannot be limited by servers, but I believe that it should be up to the server and the community if they wish to do that. It's up to the players to know what server they are playing on and what will be restricted. For example, I'm coming from 8 years of playing Realism servers and allowing the restriction of "Apexes" is a must to keep the balance of the ecosystem steady, if everyone can spawn them in without anything keeping them from doing so the whole server would be on an Apex because they are fun, big and scary.
Same with mutation skins, in real life you don't see albino and mela animals every day, hell you may never see one. The skins should be rare especially on a realism server. Allowing server owners/staff teams do what they want with restricting certain things should be up to them and the players should then do research to know what they are getting into with that server, there will be plenty of servers where there won't be restriction.

I disagree with limiting this. Dynasty Realism for example does NOT have a limit on who can be apexes. They do not have an apex problem at all, and the the diversity between small, medium, large, and apex players is balanced. Creating a realism server and saying not everyone has a right to play a dinosaur apart of the ecosystem is wrong and should stay in TOS. Same thing on mutations. Yes, mutations are rare in the wild, but some pay to use skins are mutation based. Are you telling me I can't use a piebald skin I payed ~7$ for?? Some players NEVER get to use a skin because the chances of rolling it on the bot is almost impossible. That's not realism, that's extreme limitation. You can still be a heavy realism and immersion server without forcing people to not play apexes or to roll for mutations. -

anonymousWhile outright limiting or locking apexes behind applications, giveaways, and so on is a way of controlling the ecosystem, it is not the only way. Utilizing Alderon’s given growth curves could make growing times on apexes significantly longer than any other, forcing apexes into a non-apex niche for longer and making them more approachable by other dinosaurs in your roster/ecosystem. Server owners still have the agency to punish players for breaking profile, as well, and do so more harshly if an apex. As another realism player, I’ve even seen some servers simply choose to not include apexes in their roster.
Mutations obviously don’t have the same level of game-given limits, but there are multiple mods that have given debuffs to certain skins while being within TOS. Reaching out to modders to create something that works for your server is still a valid way of going about making mutations less appealing and more rare because of harsh stat punishments that put them at the disadvantage.
