Community group max to 50-100
Sense the update you have changed the max grouping limit from unlimited down to 20... which its reasonable to not keep it at unlimited but keeping it down at 20 messes with alot of people gameplay especially on realism servers which majority people play on. I recommend changing the group limit max at 50-100

I agree with this please do consider fixing it if it isn't already being worked on! Not sure if it is or not since I heard things of it being on a fix update and then being taken off of that fix update, but please do fix it! -

CoopsierGiven that this is stated as a UI issue that setting the slot max to "20" is solving for, I think it would be most beneficial to rework the UI to be more simplistic in design, rather than limit how folks can group together, and allow community servers to change this slot amount should they wish to.
Realism servers are especially impacted by this, as many servers have profiles written specifically to allow for more than 20 members to group. These larger numbers even being integral to their profiles and gameplay experience. It also greatly hinders how members can nest within these profiles, as if you have 20 members already, you essentially, cannot nest at all. This is not even to mention events in these servers.
In essence, an imposed limit of 20 is quite restricting, and most assuredly, changes to the UI to be more simple would be preferred over an imposed restriction of 20 members per group, after curve overrides are even implemented to allow for that.
Thank you for considering! -

ArishantAdding on to this:
It was mentioned by matt that the reason was because of the avatar icons, which caused crashing on lower end devices. In which case I would highly suggest removing the icons and having there only be a player counter, that way the crashing issue can be solved and community servers can still have the flexibility they rely upon.
I understand this is a timely affair, as stated by Matt themself, and requires reworking the UI. However, for the survivability of the game, I would suggest putting in effort towards making the change and releasing it when possible, even if that takes a month or two, as I am aware the team is short staffed and has other priorities. Especially considering a large majority of community servers are realism/semi-realism servers that rely upon the flexibility the grouping limit used to give us. -

SaveRealismServersI agree with this, upping the cap is a must, I only have Path of Titans and only continue to buy skins because I play on Realism servers, if Realism servers are forced to go because of this change, I will no longer spend money on this game.
Group limits allow for moderation, speaking with your group members (families), and allow for nesting and proper herd/pack interactions. With lower group limits it's almost impossible to properly play on these servers. Realism servers are the heart of Path of Titans, so many people only bought the game/or continue to play the game because of these servers.
I hope the Devs are able to see how important these community servers are for their game in every sense. Please just change it to numbers. The Icons are not needed if they are causing issues, the profile icons arent unique to players anyway so it's just unnecessary. -

urbanshadedi support this, it feels like it went against the thing where community servers were able to take the game into their own hands into the way they wanted - limiting the slots to 20 was just a bad idea.

CryocoatlThe reason its at 20 is because anything more, possibly crashes the game, matt even said he originally intended 12 max but was convinced to make it 20
Also its most likely just a temporary solution anyway -

Libby_The_MemerThese number make sense to me. This change makes it very very unfortunate for some realism servers that allow for numbers beyond this. Realism server in the community often make it so that many creatures can flock together, this is also important so that staff in these server can know who is grouped with who which is extremely important in terms of rule breaks in these servers.

LuxenTI agree! I co-own a realism community server, and I can say that this significantly impacts the way that our server, and many like it, play the game. Large migrating herds are a community favorite, which a cap of 20 directly limits, and even a large migrating herd of 20 finds they are unable to nest and group their offspring. Family groups of pack hunters now find that they, too, struggle to have the space to nest while maintaining enough numbers to hold a territory, hunt, and raise offspring. All told, if there is a middle-ground for this, I think that realism servers, of which there are many, would be very grateful to continue to have a way to play large family groups in a realistic way.

LittleSunshineDue to the comment character limit, I will try to give my main points in bullet points:
-Server rules refer to in-game groups for moderation purposes. Big groups cannot be split into smaller ones and still act as if they were the same group.
-Realism servers have a lot of herbivores that form big herds or profiles with rich social structures that have unlimited grouping limits. These profiles are very popular to play, and groups often exceed the 20 slots.
-The biggest problem comes with nesting. Every baby takes up a group slot. If a group has 20 adults, no one can nest. This is already problematic with just more than 10 people in the group, as people enjoy nesting at the same time. This severely hinders people playing in groups that regularly exceed 10 members.
-During server events or tutorials, more than 20 people want to join and be in the group.
-Setting the hard cap just a little bit higher until a better fix can be implemented, even just 25 or 30, would be greatly appreciated. -

MarzI really would love if the group limit can be increased. It makes it very hard for realism servers to have unique grouping if they are limited to 20 per group. I feel like at least 30-50 would meet everyone at the middle. Or at least make it where realism servers can choose the group limit. I understand that the group limit can be good for officials but it isnt good for community servers. Realism servers are the core reason I play path of titans, and if realism servers go downhill because of this update, I will honestly not be playing the game.

DEVS HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE YOU TO REALISE WHEN WE UPOVTE SOMETHING IT'S BECAUSE WE WANT IT IN THE GAME -

FableRather than drastically limiting group slots, then threatening to remove grouping altogether, the UI needs to be reworked and optimized. It's genuinely very shocking that the UI alone is enough to cause crashes, low-end device or not.
Considering how this feedback post has had voting disabled multiple times due to how many people are upvoting it, this is something that needs to be rectified. There are solutions for the issue that do not gut an important feature for your community. -

stoneI think there is a better middle ground between a hard-cap 20 players max and a free-for-all 99999. The entire point of community servers is so that people can tailor their experience and do what they want. Let community servers determine how many player's they'd like in one group, with a max of 50 or 100. Thank you.

SkyI hear and understand the reasoning behind this regarding the game crashing and lagging. However, I have only heard of this happening a couple times and it is easily avoidable by simply not opening the social panel. You can add people as friends by just having their ID, other group mates can send group invites for you, etc. On the other hand, ever since this change, I and others I've played with have actually experienced MUCH more general lag. I've rarely if ever lagged while playing path of titans, but now it's a constant struggle that started as soon as this patch was implemented. This lag is something experienced by far more people and cannot be avoided from my experience.

greasyI don’t want this suggestion to disappear in the mass amounts of suggestions this forum gets every day!
I only play realism servers, and it’s so disheartening to see groups have to split up in order to nest. It really takes away from that community feel. I personally never experienced crashes before this (except for when the game just had updates), and I know we all miss having larger groups in game. Please update the UI!! -

GaleThe change has caused a lot of issues for a lot of people. I understand there's an issue with lag, but please do put updating the UI on the fast track! The community is screaming to be listened to on this situation

PancakeThis change while not affecting official servers, highly affects realism servers. many herbivores group in large herds for safety for themselves, their young, and each other. You see this in real life with large herds of herbivores too. So many realism servers have that. with the limit now being 20, servers are force to lower the amount of adults that are in the herd for the sake of having room for babies as well. Groups of 40 iggies now have to separate into smaller herds just to have their young, which makes keeping together with the rest of the herd hard if carnivores hunt them, and fills up local or global chat instead of just group chat.

SoulVulpesOne of the primary issues with this cap is how it effects community-hosted multiplayer servers, be them realism, semi-realism, or other. Many servers have species-specific profiles that are supposed to allow a large, immersive group of herbivores to gather. By restricting the group member size to only 20, that severely fractures the grouping and makes it harder to moderate for server rule breaks.
If there were a server setting option for how large maximum group sizes can be on a per server basis, that could be an ideal compromise. That way, officials have their groups limited to 20, while realism servers can up theirs to 30, 40, 50, et cetera to better fit profiles.
