Yeah...the not being able to eat corpses without the scavenger ability needs to go. It isn't realistic and it makes gameplay way more frustrating with how quickly this new food drain goes.
Even apex predators wouldn't have passed up the opportunity to munch on a corpse if they came across one.

It's because it's carrion, older gone-off corpses that aren't safe to eat unless you specialised for that, like scavenger diet
I'm just explaining in-game logic of the devs
