Deinonychus Remodel TLC
Here's what I believe deinon's remodel should appear like. It is based off more modern depictions of Deinonychus. It's more akin to a bird, rather than a JP raptor with fur & feathers glued onto it.
- More upright stance
- Feathers coating the entire foot, similarly to snowy owl's feet
- Much wider body and neck due to dense feathers (no shrink-wrapping)
- Slightly longer tail
With Laten getting a TLC, it is pretty overshadowed especially in terms of appearance & vocalization. Giving Deinon a fluffier/bulkier model to differentiate it from the slightly taller & lankier Laten, as well as Achillobator would be well-received, I would believe.
alt:
- The two subspecies for deinon with feathered crested could look and behave similarly to a male cockatoo's crest, and even animate with calls.
- Slight increase to Combat Weight (?)
--- Art by myself.
Another Suggestion that would pair well:

Nothing is really *wrong* with it, it's just clearly dated. It's stance doesn't resemble modern depictions either. It's not accurate, is what I was getting at.
I like the crest and large wings too, like I stated before I wasn't proposing they get removed. The whole post is basically just;
- Make it fluffier & not shrink wrapped
- Update it's stance to fit modern raptor depictions
- Make the crest animated
I'm not really sure where this implication I want the crest gone and shrink the wings, etc is coming from. The wings are the same size in my art, and the crest just wasn't added because I didn't know how to draw it well enough. Though I did post a link lineart with a crest tacked on in an above comment. Deionon does have a non-crested subspecies, after all. -

EugeneKrabzThis concept art makes it more similar to laten. So it doesn't help to differentiate deinon.
Also, don't remove the head crests. That's gonna make it look even more like laten.
I'd also like to add that deinon should get a climbing ability when micrraptor is released. So that deinon can climb mountains and have a different playstyle than laten. -

ModifiedThe intent wasn't to remove the headcrest, this was just for the non-crested subspecies that it has. If you read the post I spoke about how the crests could behave similarly to a cockatoo's. I also don't see how this would make it more similar to laten at all. It's pretty wide in comparison, laten is very lanky.

Here's a crest on the art if it helps you visualize, plus laten lineart.

J-E-3I absolutely love all of these ideas! Also feel free to check out my suggestion for a climbing ability for raptors: https://pathoftitans.featureupvote.com/suggestions/552343/small-pterasraptors-latch-ability

KBlurI would LOVE this so much.
Gimme a fluffy deinonychus that looks like a bird of prey! -

EugeneKrabzYou didn't explain how it's "a JP raptor with feathers glued to it." The raptors in JP are literally just deinonychus without feathers. Of course it looks like them.
I don't see what's wrong with the PoT deinon model besides of the overall quality. The design is fine. I like its head feathers and large wings. PoT deinon would be a good model if it got better textures and a few fixes -

SomeoneFun fact: the velociraptors in JP isn't actually based of deinonychus. They are based of achillobator.
In real life deinonychus could probably reach over 4 meters but in game it is only around 2 meters
Laten should still be longer but deinonychus should be more tanky and be more of a solo raptor instead of something that is totally smashed into pieces by latenivenatrix. -

Owen SpinaI don’t like it because I think that they should edit the graphics and animations of the one they have now maybe make it a bit bigger or edit its stats, but not change it completely.

Q / AstralArchivistThe height of in-game deinonychus is about right, with Laten being slightly shorter than a human. But they were a bit longer than the model, I think a slight model change and a change of posture will do it some good on that front. (pretty much how it looks in this suggestion)
The in-game Achillobator though is oversized by a huge margin, the model is mostly fine, but it's far too big. The Utahraptor mod, or base game pachy is about the scale Achi should be -

DinoYes please! Deinonychus is just a worse version of Laten! Add something unique! They already are doing it with Microraptor so why don’t they make deinonychus able to climb trees? A study done shows that juveniles and even adults could effectively climb trees and that hatchlings-adolescents could glide and possibly fly! Then they could be a counter to microraptor and be different then Laten

AspaLatens are taller but way thinner. They are runners.
Deinonychus are heavier for their size, but they are smaller (depending on what is really Latenivenatrix, one is way smaller, one is taller)
Having a Deinonychus feeling more bulkier is a plus, just combat weight shouldn't be higher than Latenivenatrix, for the size isn't the same category. It would be true if both dinos had the same size but it isnt the case.
But : their claw should be stronger. Troodontids have smaller claws, less efficient for striking and more just a tool to push small prey down. You'd still feel the weight though. So maybe bleeding effect bonus for Deinonychus? -

Extinct hatzegopteryxDone? Does anyone else's deinonychus have these changes? Mine doesn't seem to, I'm not complaining, I love my deinon, other than it's current stats. I'm just genuinely confused as to why this is marked as done because I'm pretty sure none of the style suggestions here have been added to the deinon or at least doesn't look like it to me, yet it's apparently been done

ROTTMNTLover2022I agree with Mod, deinon is incredibly weak as of now, with almost ZERO chance of surviving just about anything other than another deinon (player experience). Its model IS outdated, but so is the achillo's AND the lats. The concept of pack-based teamwork in a game with this poor PvP design for dinosaurs also needs to be updated... All three playable raptors overall need updates. My friend was sad when they nerfed her Deinon to the dirt, and anyway, it was not only the size of an American turkey, it was a larger dromaeosaurid, like Utahraptor, it was supposedly fluffy af. I agree, it DOES look suspiciously like the Jurassic Park velociraptor, so I shall upvote this

VelociCraptorWhy did they mark this as "Done"? Deinonychus currently looks nothing like this, instead we got some weird shrink wrapped gremlin. I love Deinony's playstyle, but it's just so... weird...
