Old Referals as Skin Packs
As you may know, the old referral skins have been retired as of Dec 25, 2023 and have been replaced with the beautiful new set of referrals. I, like many others, either haven't completed the original series or haven't even started it, and now we won't have the opportunity to obtain these skins. I believe they should release referrals as skin packs, as they have done with the holiday skins, once a set of referrals has retired. That way you still get the chance to get the skins for free as well as refer people to the game, but have ease of mind if you don't complete the set. Having the referral skin packs would also be beneficial to the game development by providing extra funds for other resources, as well as continuing the use of assets that would otherwise be wasted. This also provides the option for new players to have access to these skins that show in their skin selections but are locked under the newly updated referral screen. This option provides a win-win in my opinion.

If these skins are still going to be in my Edit Dino menu on every single one as well as have a "Purchase" button on them (as is currently the case) then yes they obviously should be purchasable. -

Niighty4790I don’t particularly agree with this. The people who actually helped and referred brand new people more than likely worked awfully hard to even get the skins. If they were to just fly into the shop someday for 7 bucks, I’m sure many people would be very unhappy. For example, the partner skins. They’re limited edition and always were. It would be REALLY not cool for them to suddenly come back again. It’s for users who take the time to support the game. Likewise, the referral skins are for users who take the time to support the game and help new players get into the game. But that’s just my opinion!

EvilynWhy are you against it Jan? You may think that but not everyone is able to get the skins. Like for me, I can’t get either of the skins because NOBODY refers me. Most people already HAVE the game so the referral becomes useless to most. I would prefer to buy the skins as the bundle at this point. :/ nobody is gonna refer me, so imma just buy it instead :// end of story. People can say they worked hard but NOBODY refers nowadays. I bet most ppl still don’t get REFERRED because NOBODY does it! 💀

MoiraiWeaverI think it should be purchasable at this point. Think about how many games make preorder bonuses, and deluxe editions purchasable after the game has been released for a while. And if we are talking about people working hard for the referrals, most people actually just created alternate accounts and just referred themselves. I understand the desire for having exclusive skins, and possibly even emotes, but that should be limited to people who tested something, found a bug, or participate in the PTB.

FixmeI posted my link so many times and I got one skin for my allo, but then that guy deleted his game and I lost it.. Im so angry since I love those skins and I cant get any! I would love to pay money to show support and get those skins. This is so frustrating, how others get them all?

DukeIf you dont have it before they changed them out you should not be able too get them again. Some of us put a lot of time into the game and got rewarded for it. More skins will come out so stop trying too take our earned exclusives.

brokeHello! As someone who has supported the game since kickstarter I think that would be a very unwise business strategy. If a skin is promised to be limited edition and no longer available after a certain point then it should stay that way. People worked hard for the referral skins and had to support the game for years for the partner skins. If the devs decide to just rerelease old LE skins for a quick cash grab it would be an insult in the face of players who worked their butts off to obtain them in the first place. A game who goes back on their word for a quick cash grab is not a game I would continue to support. I know it sucks not having all the skins you want but at least you'll have an opportunity to acquire new ones in the future.
