Removing friendly fire would only make it easier for big groups to absolutely destroy solos. Can you imagine them being able to spam attacks with absolutely no repercussions? Sorry, I have to disagree on this one. -

JeepsMaybe also add a 10 minute "no friendly fire" status on members that just left the group/got removed from the group.
There have been many instances of players getting random group invites. Upon accepting the invite, far more often than not this results in that random player getting their position tracked on the map to be an easy target for getting PK'd (player killed) by the group that invited them. Getting PK'd is part of the game, but this should not be something that is exploited in this instance.
With this buff/debuff suggestion, this could act both as a deterrent for this exploitative behaviour, but also grants some protection for the players getting targeted by it as well since 10 min should be enough time to get to a home cave safely from any that are trying to do this shady tactic. This would obviously not prevent non-group members/former members in attacking while the targeted player is escaping (as that would be greatly unbalanced). -

LasseI totally agree with there shouldn't be friendly fire because when being ganked you can't help your teammates because of the friendly fire

KaprychHaving friendly fire forces teammates to be more cautious and not just zerg their prey. Just be careful.

JaKenIt should be easy to implement the friendly fire part.
If you take the rhamphorhynchus mechanics as a starting point..which has already been made, where you can't hurt other dinos.
It could probably be copied and changed to groups.
One idea was that if you joined/made a group... you can't bite/hit each other in the group..
and if you then wanted it to be like it is now (where everyone hits everyone)..
You could maybe make a key/button inside the group where you yourself can turn it on/off again.
Alternatively, it could be made so that it only worked if it was a pure group. As nature intended..
Ex. If it was a group of Concavenator and only that race. Then you could use the friendly fire part. Since that race hunted in groups without other races being in their group, etc.
That way, no one gets upset about the changes. It will be possible to adapt it to the playstyle you want. -

duckboots@kaprych brings up a good point that friendly fire on forces groups to be more strategic. tbh, i dont tend to have a lot of situations where im killing my group memebers, but i think friendly fire could still be a good consideration for "group hunters". basically people who add you to a group specifically to find and kill you. on the contrary, i think friendly fire SHOULD be on for certain abilities like AoE. You might think it should be the opposite until you think about 5 bars/spinos/ankys/whatever forming a big circle around their target and just melting whatever is within their AoE overlap without a care in the world. obviously a group killer could still feasibly kill you with an AoE in this circumstance, but one AoE usually will not kill you instantly and allow you to escape
i see it like this:
physical contact attacks: FF off
AoE attacks: FF on -

RaynaPass. FF makes sure a group of gigas cant just swarm a single dino and just decimate it. Adding this would make KOSing more popular.
