Marks loss on death is too high.
I feel like the loss of exp on death is a totally fair penalty, it can be frustrating to lose growth progress but it encourages you to be cautious.
That being said, the loss of so many marks on death feels way too punishing, especially when you're in the adolescent stage and can hardly defend yourself against attackers. It's incredibly discouraging to lose so many in such a short amount of time, erasing days of saving in the matter of minutes. Please reconsider this and either lower the penalty or get rid of the mark penalty altogether. It makes me want to stop playing sometimes.

i agree it really is way too high i constantly get ganked by everything the game is barley playable for me that does not do well for game longevity the gamme w ill loose players fast if it hasnt alreadya nd the company will loose finances quickly it would be in your best interest to lower it to have more growth in finances there forf increacing your bottom line and continue the infinite growth of finances you desire -

Krazy_KirbyI agree. They should remove or at least vastly lower the amount of marks/growth you lose based on your growth and the growth of attackers.
Meaning:
If an adult kills a juvenile, they lose almost nothing.
A little more as adolescent, and so on. -

BorgaLosing *some* marks would be fine, but as it stands the penalty is too steep. It's a 25% loss of all of your current marks, and that can result in a lot of marks being lost, which means a lot of player time has effectively gone to waste.
I think this leads to a lot more toxicity in the community than people may realize, and is only exacerbated because of other frustrations that already exist -- such as travel times. -

Light WielderI agree, it is really frustrating dying for whatever reason (getting hunted, map bugs, losing a 1v3, etc) and loosing half your marks (especially, if you are saving up for a skin). However, I will add solutions to the problem. The first would be a bank in the home cave. This would allow players to store a certain amount of marks for a skin or abilities. Another similar solutions would be the ability to spend marks to partially buy an ability or skin (this could also be through the home cave). A more complicated solution would be to loose marks based on what killed you and their size vs. your size (perhaps include the amount of players in the pack as well). Finally, the last solutions would be to increase the amount of marks gained or decrease the price of all mark related items (personally I think most abilities are balanced price wise). That is all of the information I have at the moment. Thank you for reading this and for your time.

JakobTotally agree.. my spino was killed by 4 other players.. and i had around 4k marks.. lost around 1k.. respawned and was killed 2 minutes after again.. losing around 750 marks more.. so the loss was 1750'ish marks in under 5 minutes.. which was almost all my progress for the whole day..
If the loss was only equal to the xp loss.. it would be ok.. since you would get it all back as you got the ½ xp bar back you lost when you died..
But 25% for every death is ridiculous!! -

Classified_team6Completely agree. I spend days playing and saving up marks just to get jumped by big packs of dinos and lose thousands of marks. It really sucks when I can't spend all day grinding the game for marks. But I can lose them all withing a matter of min. I spend almost a week gathering close to 7000 marks to use on a skin just to lose all 7000 bc I can out run or swim or out fight the people pursuing me. I get that there is punishment for dying but that many marks is ridiculous. if the penalty is going to be thus high then we need to get more marks as rewards for quests as well as other ways to get marks.

N/ASo why do marks get taken away when we die but we don't get marks whenever we kill someone? Doesnt really make sense to me.
