Anti mix-packing mechanic
Sometimes large sized Carnivore / Herbivore mixed packs using discord to meet up, at hot spots of the map for trolling purposes and kill all the players who are questing / growing. This is a problem because toxicity and resentment make for a over all more toxic community in pvp games. My solution is adding a nasty Debuff to mixed packs that attack the same targets, this will be tricky to balance but I think this would make people happier about spending time on the game, and clean up global chat passively. You could even make it stack on hit.

SDI agree, mixpacking is the main issue this game has. It has become more toxic than games like the isle. They should have a system similar to bob where dinosaurs who aren't grouped become nervous around one another giving them a huge debuf

firefoxlily22Making it so that players can't mix pack may not stop it completely but it'd make it more difficult on them. I can't even do hunt herbivore quests because they are protected by carnivores.

Hero2NoneI just purchased the game yesterday, and I already want a refund due to mix-packing. No thank you. This is one of the worst things to allow in games like this.

YhivuAnti mix pack buff - herbivore: if attack non party herbivore -all stats (stacks up to 10 times) OR near carnivore for 60 seconds -speed -damage (stacks up to 10 times) duration increases drastically per stack, starting at 1 minute, and increasing to 1 hour at 10 stacks with a 99% stat reduction across the board, persists through log out, reduced stacks by 50% on death

Light WielderI don't think adding a debuff would be good. Beasts of Bermuda has a similar mechanic that makes the game miserable. People abuse the debuff to win fights and it makes packing even worse as players send smaller dinos to give the debuff, then send non-debuffed characters to kill the debuffed ones. The way you get around mixpacking is just to avoid/kill scouts. If a player is around you a suspiciously long time, assume that they are a scout. The only realistic solution I can see it to give pack buffs, but global debuffs (passive or otherwise) will just make the game worse for everyone. Plus, it could make updates more buggy in the future and would be more work for the programmers.

Brooks YadonI agree and think at a minimum there should be a clear message from alderon that mixpacking is not going to be tolerated. Just the threat of a ban for being caught would help alot. The one argument all mixpackers go to is that it's not a rule so make it one.

Kate_DarkTotally agree that mixpackers must be punished with game mechanics.

I can add something to DinoGaamer's suggestion: if at least two players attacks same target, and they from differend packs or just not in one pack, nasty debuff must be applied on all members of these packs or just on that players, who is not in one pack.
It can reduce that big amount of mixpackers at least.
That debuf can be:
- slow down 'mixpakers' (like as debuf from home cave or even worse);
- lose health points over time (like as when dino starving).
Maybe also can add to mixpackers lose a lot of experience points, when they died. It also can motivate people to NOT mixpack again -

Envirobridge98Idk what the answer here is but I do agree that mixpacking in official adventure servers is a problem, however I can’t imagine right now what a solution would be to this. Maybe the herb on herb one within carn proximity?

BerserkPotatoeAlong with mix packing super groups are also an issue I can't tell you how many times my small group following the group size has gotten yoked up by 4 adult ducks or the equivalent of 2 and a half groups worth of dino spots

KonnFuzeThis should be one of their highest priorities, as well as adding new dinos to official game! Or else people will stop playing :(

Sean SaakeNot going to lie you guys need to understand there’s a reason the developers made official no rules , and then gave the opportunity for people to create modded servers . It’s so they don’t have to worry about stuff like this and fixing it . It’s a PvP game not a realism adventure game . Mixpacking is just like every other complain people have in this game it’s good and it’s bad . Just get over it honestly go play community or single player. No rules is no rules sorry to break it to ya but the majority of the players enjoy mixpacking and big wars it literally brings everyone together to have a great time .

Mixpack smell rotenfishMy solution would be to add a combat Log, so you know who are in the fight right ? Then, player can record their screen so dev or mod could ban effectively.

John GallantI believe official needs some common courtesy rules, for example.
2
1-no mix packing between herbs & carnos
2-no home cave camping
3-no waystone camping
Suggestions to fix other issues
4-either make babies spawn anywhere or make baby spawn locations hard to traverse for adults
5-make the little caves so only babies can fit in there, adult packy & compto KOS in the little caves cuz babies can’t get away from them -

PhosphorosIm close to quit the game, and mixpacking ist one off the issues. The devs clearly dont understand that they, only punish normal Players. Carni cant group with Herbs, so they do it just via Discord like with the group cap. Players that fallow the simpel rules even get a debuff in combat, because of the group fights no one can heal through resting. Sounds good and fair first, but how should mega packs care they dont do in game groups. And why get's every normal Players punisht, and should play in an community server. Why i this a punishment ? you cant just find different lobbys via quick game. And ist the sever full you simply just cant play, without starting 5-8 same Dinos in different community servers. It just aweful how hard they make it for people, that want simple rules like no diet mix and a group cap (no kosing under Herbs) to enjoy the game. If you would make at least, a few rule server with simple quick search for an server like the normal Mode.

AJWithout someone actually monitoring it, i don't see it working out tho and im not sure if they have the resources for it or some people of the community are willing to spend their time doing it. They added some mechanics, like the home cave debuff, but i also dont see any system that could effectively stop mixpacking or running around with 10+ points mega packs.
Another issue now is the solo / group buffs and group combat timer. This results in people not being in grp in general to be able to heal and benefit from the buffs. So people get used to play with voice and not beeing in group, that leads to we are anyway not playing anymore in a group so be it, let us all pick what we feel like playing and just play the game from here. Before groups had actually an advantage now being in a group and play the game like "intended" is overall a disadvantage. -

WillMaybe you all should join a group grow some Dino’s and hold down a hot spot. Who really cares about mixpacking the ones getting killed? Lol and as far as solo play goes stay away from the hot spots! And if you still die then chalk it up to the price of playing a real PvP game. Path of titans is an EXCELLENT game YES it could use improvement but mixpacking? Come on just get better

PoT PlayerThis is the biggest problem in the game I've seen over the past few months.
I've been playing with a few friends I made in the game and every night around 9pm we get wiped out by a pack of 10+ Dinos. They've chased us across several regions and they kill everything they see. I don't understand how this isn't the top priority for Devs. I've known several people who completely gave up on the game because every time they play they just die over and over to massive packs of all kinds of Dinos. There needs to be a debuff of some sort if they're in proximity to eachother without combat for a period of time or something. People are literally quitting the game because it's just becoming a game of who can get the biggest following on Discord. The game shouldn't be a popularity contest for streamers, it should support normal average players enjoying the game. If it doesn't get fixed I guarantee the game will fail due to Devs disconnect with current players. -

Spirit HulkHow to fix Mix packing in two steps:
1
Step one:
Make Herbivores Panic, within 10seconds of being in close proximity to a Carnivore. This means mix packs, cannot simply hang around in the same area. This Panicked state, could be represented by inverted controls, or the creature fleeing uncontrolled in a single direction, until outside of carnivore radius. This panic state should only be applied outside of combat, so that if the herbivore is attacked by the carnivore, they still have a chance to defend themself.
Step Two:
Turn off Friendly fire. If you cannot directly injure group members, mix packers will have to think twice about attacking you. As there will be no risk in you defending juveniles, and they will be at risk out injury each other during their assault.
Please add the following two suggestions to our next Update, as the mix pack problem needs to be solved, and is damaging the longevity of the game. -

Ralph777Mixpacking will be history in adventure official server if another mode comes. But please intensify the anti mixpack mechanics in adventure official server. So that the argument of "it's a pvp game" will get invalid. It's getting outta hand. Dude... It's a Survival MMO at the core. Pvp is not the main core here.
