Let Megalania Climb
It seems only fair, as modern day equivalent species are known to have at least some minor climbing abilities. My suggestion would be to let them climb, but at a constant draining decline if they're on a wall/ledge/tree/etc. This would keep them from being able to camp for long periods of time, but still make them a more viable competitor for laten and deinon.

Agreed! Tree climbing should be a thing for Megalanias as a survival trait. This should be a passive trait that you get during the tutorial as younger megalanias would be more apt to climb trees to get away from larger predators, similar to Komodo dragon young. -

LycaenopsI agree with giving the megalania an ability to climb. I suggest making it a passive ability you can unlock (similar to dive ability). Allow people to spec into arboreal, semiaquatic, or unlock both at a higher cost

Purple PoetTotally agree, monitor lizards are able to scale boulders and cliff/high ledges. Dont see why mega would be any different.

LukI’m all in for giving Juvenile and Teen Megalanias the ability to climb, however i think that Sub-Adult and Adult Megas should not be able to climb. Juvie Megas would need the ability to climb to escape potential threats, but adult ones are far too heavy to climb, and they can also violently defend themselves. In my opinion, juveniles and teens would spend most of their time in the trees (like modern Young Komodo Dragons) switching to a terrestrial or semi-aquatic lifestyle once sub-adults. The ability to climb would be automatically unlocked once exiting the Tutorial Cave.

random anodontoI definitley agree to this. young komodo dragons climb up in trees to escape from predators and sometimes hang out on trees while roaming. This ability should be good for juvie and adol megs And it adds more realism to PoT.

Bobby ShafferI was about to suggest this but really any dinos who can climb should have the ability to climb things. Such as cliffs, rocks, trees, and so on.

Envirobridge98I think making the ability only available to Adols and juvies would be very interesting

SleepyheadI think only young megs should be able to climb for survival like today's komodo dragons and they can't anymore when adult

Hulksmash 8032Megalania should be able to climb at a fast pace on trees and rocks as a baby and once sub it cannot climb trees but it can climb rocks while it requires stamina.

ShinyBlueDragonNo climbing for the meg, they can already swim, they are already powerful as it is!

JamesMaybe lock climbing to hatchling/juvie, make it unusable at adolescent and then give subs and adults the option for a semi-aquatic lifestyle, that way you have a grace period where you can neither climb nor dive, so that juvie can funnel out most of the meg players?

BlueberryI think this is a great idea for megalania it I think it could make the game much more fun

ADinoNerd_713This is cool but if you could only climb as a hatchling to maybe adolescent like real life komodo dragons it would provide a way to escape large predators when in the younger stages. The only reason I know this is wild kratts haha.

CookieVonCrumbI believe since the Thal starts off able to fly then eventually able to dive the Meg should be the same. Have it a natural draining Stam. Making the Meg the only land Dino able to dive and climb like the Thal is the only Dino that can fly and dive. Making the Meg and flyers Natural predators together.

The younginI feel like this would help the player have more opportunity to find escape plans and have more flexibility but then people might start to annoy players but when micro raptor gets out that could be an optional predator to add in path of titans but if raptors also get that ability they still might have the upper hand because meg is larger and the raptors have more flexibility but the megs main prey would then be changed but would still be viable on ground but still may have stats changed
Prey: Micro raptor, baby megs, raptors like laten and deino, thal and rhamph -

CassI think mega needs a complete rework all together, sure maybe the old version wasn't great and abused with mix packing etc but now, now I just don't think it knows what it is. It's like the venom attack does absolutely nothing and anything it's own size(skill dependent) statistically is going [the meg] to be killed.
The meg is just in a weird place and needs a tlc -

Q / AstralarchivistRock Climbing at all growth stages would be a good passive for it, as long as the stamina cost increases as it ages.
-

TiffDefinitely think the Meg deserves a lot of tlc and buffing. Climbing would be a great ability for all growth stages. As a main Meg player I feel like the Meg has downgraded with losing tail attack and gaining pointless venom when we already had that in the bite. Megs are weaker than they should be.

CosmicBarkAll monitors can climb and most are really good at it so it only makes sense meg should be able to as well for its TLC!

Q / AstralarchivistI'd be all for a Ledge-clambering rock climbing mechanic. It'd be unfair to give it something it loses at adult, so rather than locking it to younger stages, just have it cost exponentially increased stamina as it grows

Papaswole69I agree everyone thinks that they shouldn’t climb because Komodo dragon adults don’t climb but the reason baby’s do is to escape predators adults don’t because they are the predators there is still proof that they can climb there is just no benefit to doing so

DinoloafusThat would take SO long since there workin on micro so that would be hard to code climbing on anything on toppa that too

YohanI love this idea. I do hope Meg can then rest on branches and such, like a leopard. This, especially when corps dragging becomes a thing, will be a really fun idea. This would also help micro fit into the ecosystem, having a natural predator, but also maybe just a tree buddy.
