Reduce Penalty/Punishment for Death
Death itself is already a dire punishment in this game. Players end up displaced and quests automatically fail on death. Adding both a point AND growth penalty on death seems unfair. Many other players agree that the secondary penalty on death should be points OR growth, but not both.

BorgaThe mark penalty, a 25% of all of your marks for a combat death, is far worse than losing a half bar of growth. Those marks, especially depending on what you're playing as, can take a long time to accumulate. It creates an unhealthy roguelite experience.
