Shake animation removes wet skin
A quality of life/detail idea: the wet overlay skin from being in water or the rain should dissipate faster when you use the shake emote.

It's not the most important feature to be added right now but... it would add some more realism, immersion and fun, yes!!! -

GeneralLDSooo i love this idea
i actualy shake when i get out of water already. it just feels right -

YeshuaMyLordThere's coming out that will do exactly that, which just exalts how much the players need that feature.

KyleI thought that was what it did and I was extremely disappointed when I tried it and it didn't work.

Heavy_Weapon-XThis, but make it so you have to do it a few times. Sucho is in a good place with it's buff which has increased damage on wet targets. Instantly drying from a shake will make this ability redundant unless the target is directly in a body of water or it's raining. I think it would be wise if the shake speeds up the drying process instead of flat out removing the water

scorpI agree, but they should make it sucho's ability works when its wet instead of when its enemies are so that it can still have an ability

LastIfriedWith Sucho having advantages against wet target I feel like an emote shouldn't just take that away unless you need to stay stationary for the shake and it has a kinda long animation.

Cyesss!! ive been thinking this for a while, especially because some dinos have drenched blows.
-

Owen SpinaI agree but we also have to think about dinosaurs with the drenched blows ability
-

BirdReptileFanYES, this is one of the things I want the most in the game. The water dripping off of my dinosaur is annoying imo, and some dinosaurs deal extra damage to players who are wet. Plus it would just add a little more realism, which is crucial in a game like this.

Ali_tufLike The idea but would like to add to it make The rain useful by increasing water quality and fill up thirst like ark survival evolved also don't make rain go through structure like for example if I reset under a Rock I shouldn't see rain going through plus therefore allowing me to dry if I didn't shake The water off

Q / AstralarchivistInstead of removing wet entirely, it could remove a big chunk of time off the wet timer, that way it's not an immediate counter to drenched blows. Something like, each shake removes 50% of the remaining time. And that means every creature would need a shake emote
-

QIf this were to be added I feel like there'd need to be some kind of cooldown to the shake since you could just enter water, get out and immediately spam the shake emote to get rid of being wet, essentially making drenched blows useless outside of combat with other semi/aquatics.

CrazytailzLike the comment above said about shaking a couple times, but maybe adding detail like water shaking off but becomes less and less the more you shake. Just like when you collect off of termite mounds...the termites fade away.

Sir TiddlywinksI think this could be jolly well balanced in the existing system by making the shake bring your wet timer down to at least half and no lower. Shake off SOME of the water, but what dino has a towel or hair dryer?

FullmetalThis would be cool, but it would mess up the drenched blows ability that some dinosaurs have, effectively rendering it useless. Instead it should just lower how long the status lasts. I would love to see this.

MewsliBarEven if it only reduced it by 75% or something it would be nice to be able to remove most of the wet skin via shaking!
However this will would only work if all Dino’s had a shake emote added as right now a lot of Dino’s have very limited emotes to use. Suppose we will have to wait and see 👀 -

ReteroXThis is an excellent idea, and I was expecting it to work when I exited the water a few hours into the game.
I would suggest, however, as others have already that it could be used to remove a percentage (maybe 30%) of the wet status, and not whole thing.
This would make it so that it takes a little bit of time to clear the status (like resting for envenomed or bleeding) and gives dinos with drenched blows a chance to punish it! -

LigriniaAs a Miragaia player, I strongly agree with this suggestion. I play with the muddy hide and it is sometimes hard to wait to be completely dry before rolling in the mud again, especially after doing quest like "collect lakeweed" which can't be completed without going in water.

AstalphI don't see them ever doing this. There are dinos that have abilities that depend on being wet, or the target being wet.
And there are abilities that effect the length of time it takes to dry, or cause the player to remain Wet longer.
Letting everyone simply do the shake emote to remove wetness would negate all of this.
The game is already in danger of becoming homogeneous, with abilities like Shove, etc no longer being able to cancel other abilities. If we start removing even more mechanics that allow for interesting gameplay and moments where the player needs to think, and make decisions about taking certain actions at certain times, then it's just one more step toward boring homogeneity.
Going into the water should be an action that requires some thought. There are dangers associated with it. And it should be that way. Some dinos do more damage to wet targets. So other dinos getting wet, and staying wet for a time, when they go in the water is a key part of that mechanic. -

swizztitan 313-101-949I know this was a feature that the game had for the Velociraptor in Veloccis server at one point. Don't know why it didn't get implemented or made available for other dinosaurs did that and I only ever saw it on that Dino in that server and I don't even know if it still does it and at that time all I did was shake off the water particles so you see them fly away from you but the drenched feature still wasn't implemented at that time

Susuwouldn't even need to actually dry us just because I know that'd mess with the wet/dry system but having some sort of water splash effect when we shake would be cool.

KupkakeI'd like to at least be able to have a sprinkle effect when you shake while under the wet status.
The current Wet/Dry status effect system would make it so abilities meant to apply and remove it would become useless sadly. That being said, a "shake off" or "dry shake" ability for some dinosaurs that play around water but don't commit to it would make for some interesting counterplay options against those that can apply that wet statuses. -

Jax03Almost every dinosaur has shake but for it to be of actual use would be great. Make it feel more real. I agree with this post myself thank you

MarcusNot really necessary right now. I would much rather them spend their time developing something else right now. Without a doubt this would be cool in the future to have tho!!
