add an "off topic" channel in the discord
hi! i think adding an off topic channel to the discord would be a very good idea for the community, and community building.
it would give mods somewhere to direct people whos conversations drift away from the topic of the game, instead of having the mods tell them to stop having said conversation all together, i have been there, and its pretty disheartening, it would be healthy for the community i think, some of these conversations could lead to new friendships being formed and playing together, maybe people could talk about their pet reptiles, things like that! i just think an off topic channel would be wonderful for this game and community building. thanks!

Oucyanunfortunately, iirc, they tried this during the early days of the game. the off-topic chat ended up being too wild and needed mods watching it 24/7. in the end it was just easier to remove it than to try and enforce any semblance of rules.
