Why Path of Titans Needs a Perma-Death Mode
A perma-death mode could bring tension and challenge to Path of Titans, making every encounter meaningful. While the game excels in design, the lack of real consequences for death leaves gameplay feeling flat. This mode would introduce high stakes and immersive survival.
The Pitch
In this mode, death is permanent, and players must respawn as hatchlings. Key features:
• One character per species: Only one dinosaur per species can be created at a time.
• 10-minute death cooldown: Prevents revenge-killing and adds weight to death.
• Persistent unlocks: Abilities and skins remain, but growth is lost.
• Realistic spawning: Players hatch from eggs at pre-placed nests, not randomly.
Grouping Rules
Groups are limited to the same kind (e.g., Alioramus, Daspletosaurus, Rex) or species. Nested juveniles can group with adults for protection.
Immersive Survival
Remove waystones and homecaves, allow ability changes while resting, and enable nesting

I don't want perma death in PoT. I love how PoT is leaning more towards MMORPG than punishing survival.
Already, dying is a chore when you gotta regrind the xp. -

DinoI think that it is a decent idea, but honestly, those who want it that way can reset their animal to juvenile anyways.
BUT I think that people are glancing over the fact that it’d be a mode, not everyone has to do it -

RhiannonThe eggs from nests sounds neat....but people would camp them. I think I'm ok being able to see my character hatch in the hatchling cave for now.
Also what people actually might be missing is this is already being worked on. Not exactly as said here but if you look at the officials you can find a permadeath testing server alongside the solo server (Unless free to play moble users are not allowed in testing or something. I don't know all the ins and outs of what ya'll are blocked from doing)
So right now suggestions involving this sort of mode are coming in exactly the right time to do so.
I do think a ten minute timer of being locked out of playing the mode is really annoying sounding. I kind of hope the current version of the mode keeps its one character at a time limit (since other modes exist to let you play others this doesn't bother me) or else instead removes the killed character while babyafying all your others if they do allow more.
