Banked Quests are a Good Thing
I wanted to simply leave a comment in favor of the new banked quests system. I think it was a good addition and helps ease the frustration of solo players and group players alike (especially for adult dinos). Whatever the plans moving forward are, I'd hope to see something like this addition remain. Good work!

BrieAgreed. Its so much more enjoyable to play for a while and not have to worry about being KoSed. Growth is still lost. Work still has to be done to grow. But now I can actually interact with other players instead of having to grow hiding in a corner of the map for days until I'm big enough to not immediately get chomped the second I come across someone else. I really hope you guys keep it in.

NeisyGeneral consensus is that Quests should remain after death in the bank. And that a cap should be implemented between 10-20 quests.

MrSkitsThis helps the already tedious leveling system feel a little less taxing, if we can't keep our quests then compromise and give us passive growth in official servers instead. PLEASE.

EntomologyAbsolutely! I think its really stupid for them to remove this feature, as it really makes growing a lot less painful

15 May, '23
Daniel PattersonThey can level it out with you lose some on death. Same as marks
-

RaptorRodeoGodIt makes the games less toxic for people that want to save up for those insanely high priced skins. It's a shame it's not an intended feature.

TwoBITklipPlease to God leave this FEATURE of the update alone. If ya'll absolutely have to mess with this absolutely amazing QoL change that you gave us for the past week than maybe make it where adults can't bank quests. That's a fair compromise that will still help the mind numbing growth to adult, and fix ya'lls ego with us having a nice QoL feature.

MaximoPlease keep the quest banking! It convinced my friends to come back and play again while it was here!!! It just needs some tweaks, like only allowing you to bank red, green and yellow quests! I understand not wanting to let people bank 15 trophies for a rainy day, so just make those and the blue Waystone/Homecave quests be instant-redeemed like they used to be! Please! I love this new system, I feel happy and free playing official servers again!

MagpeyeAs of right now, they've implemented a patch on the PTB calling this change an "exploit." The patch will cause all banked quests to be lost after death.
1
Banking quests is a POSITIVE change. People are more more willing to travel to quest as adults, and are less afraid of PVP. What's the point of banking quests at all if you're going to be punished for not collecting them right away, aside from adding unnecessary steps to give the illusion of an added activity in an attempt to make the game more complex? I don't understand the devs' decisions sometimes. -
15 May, '23
AngelWonder why the counter keeps not working. It's a great idea and more people are upvoting it than are being counted.
-
15 May, '23
VicekillXGod please. There’s nothing more frustrating than trying to farm for a skin and losing hours of progress because 4 eos, a metri, and 2 rexes decided they wanna ruin your day. That’s not challenging gameplay, that’s just infuriating.
2
And if the entire point of that update was to give players more freedom to decide when they want quest rewards, which devs said it was, then wouldn’t this defeat the purpose? Why wouldn’t I collect them immediately if I could lose them when I die? When else would I be saving them for? -
15 May, '23
Hotsy_ManI do quite like this system, it definitely needs to be either keep banking how it is or make it like exactly like questing pre-patch. No reason to hold onto quests if you can’t claim them after death.
-
15 May, '23
MichaelIt really does make the game more enjoyable and helps with all the Kos mega/mix packing. I really believe you should either Keep this change as it is a good idea, get rid of the claiming system all together as it’s pointless and annoying without the ability to bank, or meet in the middle and and put a cap on how many quests we can bank while allowing us to keep them beyond death. Maybe only allowing us to collect enough for 1 growth stage or 1/2 of a growth stage if you still want consequences on death.
-

VelociraptorBlue69I’ve been playing this game with my 5 years old for a couple months ( got it full version on ps5 and switch ) & I was happy with the banking quest system because it finally allowed him to grow a full stage without all the drama of losing the hard work , please reconsider before calling this an exploit. Also please understand that the old system was more natural if you count on making us lose all the accumulated quest rewards on death, adding an extra step in the menu to collect them will definitely make the experience less attractive…
-
15 May, '23
RamenNooooodles123The new bank system was amazing, it made it so easier to grow and earn marks. It already take so long to grow and being able to collect the stuff you lost after you die would make it easier to get back where you where. You could grow way faster it would be so much easier. What you are planning to do is driving people alway.
-
15 May, '23
ShelbyAgreed. Maybe at least cap the banking system. It really helps make questing and growth less tedious and repetitive; since going around for hours collecting nuts and flowers is 90% of gameplay for many players. It's not game breaking by any means and has leveled out the growth and pvp playing field, allowing those less experienced with pvp to feel confident enough to try and vice versa. I think the response to removing the banked quests after death is overwhelmingly negative from the community.
-
15 May, '23
SabraI was actually engaging in PVP instead of running away, because i felt i had a choice in when i lost and gained xp. find a happy medium, let us stock up 5-10 quests and cap it at that. that's only about a bar or so, not enough to exploit.
-
15 May, '23
PopTartIt’s was a strong feature that helped players just play the game and reliably acquire skins while still doing a fair amount of work for them.

GioPlease keep the Bank Quest System, it's a really great mechanic for those who don't play the game often.
-
15 May, '23
DaredecllI agree with this
-
15 May, '23
Joshua LPlease allow us to continue banking the quests otherwise there is absolutely zero reason for this feature to exist at all.

BEither allow quests to be banked and endure through deaths, or remove the system altogether. There is no gameplay benefit to having to claim quest rewards AND losing unclaimed quests upon death. It's an extra step with no purpose.

15 May, '23
LissaYes! It should stay. Especially on gondwa, where it seems so hard to grow and gain marks. It makes growing, and saving up for skins/abilities much easier, especially when so many people love to KOS. Someone else mentioned this, but I feel it absolutely should be said again: it makes the game FEEL better to play. In fact I think it makes the game more attractive from an outside perspective in comparison to other games of this genre that are on the market. It truly is a benefit.

AwroVenaI'm am 100% in favor of keeping this. I am having more fun knowing that I have a bit of XP to fall back on. There's nothing worse than dying only to respawn and be killed yet again, losing that much XP. Then you have to try to make it up without dying yet again and so forth. The quest banking is a godsend for me and allows me to actually want to engage in pvp as I have a little bit of a crutch. I was just starting to gain a bit of confidence and then I hear they are going to remove banking. Please don't! (AeroVena, not ArwoVena)

MontyWe should definitely keep this and not lose progress upon death. I like the banking system and being able to hold on quests so if you die you don’t lose out or can cash in when you die to bring your Dino back to adult quickly. If you’ve taken the time to grind then it should reward you this way and not with just marks. Please don’t take it away like I hear they’re already trying to do.

SithThe banking system has made the game infinitely more fun. If it's not what the devs want then either revert it to the original way of auto-collecting rewards or limit how many quests can be banked at a time.

ShikyoOther good points of the banked quests system than I like (and probably other player too)
- Growing slow dino without frustration or discouragement of being kill
- Killing baby for sports isn't rewarding anymore, bigger dino let alone new player
- Encourage people to interact to each other: no fear to lose everything cause we can't trust anyone.
- Solo player and people didn't like pvp can enjoy the game now
- People who love the risk of losing everything can still reward the quest
- Encourage people to explore the map, really.
- Make the game less grindy, until we have better quests and world events. -

Heavy_Weapon-XThis is not a bug, this is a feature and we'd like it to stay that way.
It especially alleviates the pain of being killed on sight to megapacks and mix packs and being killed in general.
To remove a feature of the game that everyone is so very welcome to would be to go against the community of players which value their time and efforts in which they spent so long growing their dinosaurs on official servers. I can safely say that this is a majority.
To have this system, from what I can see, is the only justification of having to claim your quest rewards. Otherwise the claim system is null and void.
I hope you can understand my views and I think I speak for the majority of players who play on official AND community servers. Whom of which support your game by actively playing it and contributing to the community within.
I hope this comment finds itself to one of the Devs at Alderon Games and I hope you consider this feature to remain and not be labelled as an exploit. -

urrmurrmurThe banking system is not perfect. It is less realistic and immersive than gradual growth, waiting in a home cave while redeeming a few dozen quests is tedious, and the UI is far too intrusive. However, the (apparently unintended) diminishing of death penalties it brought with it had a lot of positive effects on the game. People are less frustrated when dying, which led to a general lowering of toxic behavior and chat.
1
Leaving the banking system as is, but deleting quests on death keeps all the negative aspects of the system, and removes any positive, The only sensible approach is to redeem each quest immediately, which is the same as the old system, but with extra UI actions that break immersion and leaves the player open to attack. The death penalty meanwhile will be as bad or worse as with the original system: one loses growth progress upon dying, PLUS any quests that had yet to be redeemed.
I truly cannot see an upside to the banking system if quests are lost upon death. -

WarlordRekzYes as a solo this helps me grow alot.
-
15 May, '23
BobRaptorcowThe quest banking system is the best addition I've seen since I started playing, it makes solo play way easier. However, if balancing it is necessary, I'd suggest a quest cap, perhaps a maximum of 20 as you're younger and a maximum of 5 as an adult. I understand you're trying to make the game better, but this is not the right way to do it, as EVERYONE loved this feature :)

OtokoyoQuest banking is definitely a great addition! Adding to this, why not make it OPTIONAL for servers to turn on or off? It would be fine if it was off by default on official servers, but community servers could make that choice on their own if they want it or not for their own communities.
Personally, quest banking has made the game a lot less stressful, making it easier for me to even WANT to interact with others, whether it's just chilling at a water hole or participating in a hunt (no matter which end of the hunt I'm on). -
16 May, '23
valantineI agree with this. Banking quests is super helpful, especially when your an adult and get killed. I find myself questing more and repeatedly using dinos that normally i wouldn't touch. Please do not take this away from us. Its a good thing.

donnasaurusSince quest banking was added, I felt like dying was actually fun and not so bad. It felt more like an MMO and felt great for me as a casual player who puts in several hours a week, a couple hours at a time. Deaths used to be upsetting to me as a solo/small group player trying to grow a baby, since it felt like I was wasting my time. With the banking I felt I was able to play at my own pace, because I could choose my risk when playing, and preparing for death was kind of nice.
If this is going to be changed, I'd like some way to reward the player for being resilient after death as a young dino.
I encourage devs to look at rogue-likes who are masters at making death fun in games. They tend to have some kind of system to help pick up people after suffering a death. Perhaps you get an achievement for getting killed by a certain dinosaur. Or each time you die you get a currency you can choose to either give yourself XP or a buff when you respawn.
Thanks Devs for all you do. -

PlumppShadyBanking quests and keeping them even through death was a very unexpected yet much appreciated and needed addition to the game. It gives newer players and solo players the ability to enjoy the finer aspects of the game without having to be set back significantly from other toxic players. KEEP BANKED QUESTS
-
16 May, '23
BlakeThis mechanic was good and should stay to some extent, at least for dinos that are not fully grown
-
16 May, '23
MegaCroissant373Upvoted. The game may be an MMO, but it should strive for a balance between what is fair, and what is tedious. The only thing this banking of quests does is support solo players. A mega pack will protect their own anyway, it doesn’t punish or help everyone the same amount proportionally.
And while we’re at it, increase mark gain for crying out loud. 40 marks?!? Really??? -
16 May, '23
Lucius B.Either implement this back into the base game, or get rid of the ability to bank quests because its completely useless off you lose them upon death

16 May, '23
Raptor RedI'm commenting in agreement. There is no reason to allow quest banking at all if they do not persist through death, it only creates more tedious UI and game interactions. While I am sure they will say it's to allow people to better use the HC growth buff, there is no tangible difference between banking quests to use it or just getting it and using it as you play, as the potential for both are lost upon death.
1
This change makes the questing system fundamentally worse if those quests cannot be held through deaths. I would even be willing to meet the devs in the middle even if I cannot comprehend their reasoning at all and say maybe you lose a certain percentage of bank quests upon death, but to lose all of them is to have not changed the questing system in any way other than forcing the player to click annoyingly through menus. -
16 May, '23
TankyPlease don’t revert this change. Why you claim one of if not the best change to the game was an exploit is beyond me.
-
16 May, '23
PhsyferMoonIt is great, allows new players and old players with new baby dinos to be able to save rewards like the juice hc and ws quests without losing rewards when we killed by baby killers. If the quest banking had been active over a week ago we wouldn't have lost the new player I was trying to help, he gave up the game because baby killers kept killing him and he lost all progress. Anyone who complains about quest banking are prob baby killers who mad they not getting baby dinos quest rewards when they kill em, don't remove quest banking if they really don't like it then adding an option to turn on auto collect quest for them would be good. I will always use quest banking for as long as I can while I grow my baby dinos. Keep quest banking active, and if needed as an option to auto collect for the people who are complaining.
-

PhierzPlease keep the banked quests why add it just to remove it? Completely defeats the purpose for a safe & easy grow in case your dino get killed
-
16 May, '23
ClintThe feature you added that allows quest banking is a nice feature. The feature is so straight forward and helpful. Ive had many friends walk away from this game and came back this update due to being more user friendly and fun to play. Noone likes being killed over and over and losing all of the hard earned exp and worse 3 or 4 hours of time just gone because a megapack is hunting babies for fun and to be toxic. Removing this feature will potentially cripple the already low playerbase at least until AI dinos are added. Listen to your community. There are lots of things that can be done to tweak the system. For example at subadult limit the bankable quest limit to 3 and for adult limit 2. This would be better than just scrapping banking entirely otherwise if we still lose everything anyway what is the point in the mechanic? I cant tell you how many days i quest for a few hours and get closer to next growth stage to be killed at the door to homecave or nearby hc.

Jun KiyoriAdd a limit to the quests banked don't remove the ability to keep them on death please. As a father with a disabled child and very limited game time it helps to not lose so much progress.

JudeThis new system is the first thing they have done in awhile that actually improves the annoying and tedious process of growing on official servers and they are already planning to take it away… UNBELIEVABLE!…

DeepVoidSharkPlease let the quest banking be. Its a great thing. As a solo player its the only way that i can grow on an official server

LeyelI died to a pack of kill on sight herbivores countless times with several different dinos. The fact that I have the work I put in saved for me redeems the game for me. Removing this feature would effectively demotivate me and a lot of people I know of.
+ you have to remember all the unfair players that set people back by using exploits and what not for their own amusement. Last time I died on my trike with the stored quests, I wasn't upset but rather felt proud of the work I put into get my trike back where it was. Hard work deserves equal reward.
