Fixing footstep sound

I've noticed recently that when another dino is around me, the sound of their footsteps doesn't match the location of where the dino actually is. I'll be hearing footsteps behind me but the dino is to my northeast. I'll hear them all around me in every direction, but the dino is to the north. Being able to hear the footsteps coming from the exact place the responsible dino is would be great for being stealthy/trying to remain hidden/escape.
