Aquatic Dinos Shouldn't Drain Water While Inside The Water
Dinos that get to dive and swim either on the surface or while submerged shouldn't drain water as being in contact with water the skin would be absorbing water already.

Envirobridge98Perhaps not all. I think a better solution is that Sarco, Spino, Meg, and Charchar don’t drain the water when they drink. I still think drinking adds a moment of vulnerability to these characters so that others have the chance to attack if needed.

Jimbo JamboBalance concerns aside, this idea is completely unrealistic. Reptile (and mammal) skin is designed to be impermeable to water so they can actually live on land without drying out. Even sitting in seawater would cause you to become dehydrated.

Passively drinking while in water would be functionally identical but more realistically plausible. There is still a slight problem in that crocs and such would drain the water quality just by being there, potentially giving them away to would-be prey looking for an undisturbed and unoccupied pond.
