Tail Attack Changes
Tail attacks need a damage reduction. Along with that reduction an added bonus of a slight stun or knockback. Carnivores are meant to chase their prey primarily but when a tail attack is doing more damage than a bite attack, my guess is due to the location damage, it makes for an unbalanced fight. Changing to either a stun or knockback would still give viable option to either allow the prey to continue running or turn and reposition for an attack. This would go a long way in balancing combat to make certain aspects much more viable in solo play scenarios, while also adding new incentive for pack hunting/defending.

GhostBullet**Slight edit to my post. Obviously dinos where the primary attack is a tail attack would not be impacted by this, such as Stego, Andonto and Kentro.

AlexeiCouldn't disagree more, if anything some of the tail swipes need an increase in damage. They are the only tool to deal with riders and make for a lot more strategic and interesting pvp. The issue is that you want to just ride other creatures and you shouldn't do that. You need to attack weak points, and yes locational damage is the best thing they did. If you are being tail swiped in the head you're doing it wrong.

Point is a tail attack does far too much damage, in a game where the Herbivore's tail does double the damage of a large predators bite, that is a huge problem.
You also fail to realize riding doesn't exist in this game because of the movement mechanics, decreasing the damage value won't change that, as it stands herbivores do far too much damage, Lambeo is a healing class, it should not out damage an allosaurus/Dasp.
It's not like Ghost is suggesting no damage, but it's not meant to be a main attack, reducing damage and adding something like a stun would be more of a defensive tool. -

JynnAgreed, tail attacks should be used to give you a bit of time to get to a more defensive position to use your main weapons
A tail attack should NOT be the go-to killing weapon unless your'e something WITH a actual tail attack like Stego, Kentro, or Anodonto
A deinocheirus can kill most things just by standing there tail whipping. They don't even have to TRY to hit anythign with claw, when they can just swing their stupidly powerful tail -

klinkThe picture loading in is a cera getting nocked down by a tail attack as well. Was this planned and thrown to the wayside? If i play ano, i should be getting forced out of turtle all the time by tail spamming rexs. As anything pack oriented, we shouldnt be getting punished for what should be a 'good' position on our prey like a deinocheirus.
