Flyers Cleaning/Parasite Mechanic
Flying creatures will be in Path of Titans at some point. But I don't want them to fall under the category of piscivore/scavenger when it comes to diet. Pteradons fall under a much broader spectrum than that. And one of the ways I thought would work was a parasite mechanic.
As dinosaurs walk around Panjura, they will passively collect parasites on them. These small pests can have an effect on your dinosaurs performance, either by chipping a little health every so often, or draining your food or water levels quicker. How do you combat this? Flyers.
Flyers can land on the backs of dinosaurs and peck the parasites out of their hides and under their feathers. Flyers will benefit by having an additional food source, and the larger dinosaurs will benefit from getting cleaned, perhaps through some kind of buff.
Not only would this add a symbiotic relationship, but this would also play as another process within Path of Titans ever expanding ecosystem.

MegatronusFirst of all, yes! I second this!
Secondly, I could see this being a flyer's quest. Picking like 100 parasites from a single other player for 100 marks or something like that would work for me. I don't know about having the parasites noticeably taking health away or increasing food or water drain though, because if there are no flyers you'll eventually die.
Thirdly, I'd suggest giving them a flexible ecosystem role. So each person could have the parasite cleaner as a default, with other abilities like scavenging or fishing as purchaseable abilities. Heck, I'd even throw insectivore into there too.
This way they could contribute to the ecosystem and players are given choices on how they can contribute. Their natural predators could be megalania and the smaller carnivores like the raptors. -

DragonOfAlbionPerhaps the parasites draining health/food and water could work. If the devs added dust bath it would allow players to clean themselves without the need for a pterosaur player. Mind you, dust baths would have to be rare or at least run out quickly so they don't make the ptera players completely obsolete.
