winning/losing marks
either decrease the amount of marks you lose when you die/get killed by someone, or get rid of that feature. Because of how much points you lose every time you die, it encourages many people to kill every person they can find even if they are not hungry just because they like to cause pain and suffering. and because how little points you earn completing quests you would have to grind just to get those points back and that can take a while and is a HUGE pain in the ass. Also it would be nice if you earned more marks per quest

AionThere is a simple way to protect your marks, spend them when you acquire what you need.
First I'm not sure what the loss ratio is for marks, I believe it is 20% so that is the number I'm using below.
Running around with 8000 marks (unless trying to unlock melanistic or albino) is risky, the max an ability currently cost is 1500 marks, which if you die just before acquiring that much you lose approximately 300 marks.
That is the limit on what you should lose unless you are grinding for a cosmetic or carry an obscene amount of marks at your own risk.
That being said, if you do die at 10,000 marks and lose 2000 that's pretty brutal. Hours of questing as some creatures. I hope the mark loss system can apply a logarithmic function or negative exponential function instead of a static 20% deduction formula for mark loss.
All that being said, it is brutal to lose 2000 marks -

TaliBooniSadly Aion the problem right now as well is the fact that with the mark nerf, it is now far harder to obtain the marks you need for certain features added in the home cave system. Especially if you plan on grinding for more room expansions, which get hugely expensive. You have to pay for the room itself, which is very pricey AND the cost to actually attach it is obscenely expensive.

I think something to do other than just boost up quest mark rewards is do what I've seen suggested many times now: Just add a player bank attached to home cave system. Does not have to be "account wide" it can just be character bound. It would allow us to just store our precious marks (as tedious as it is to keep having to go back to home cave) and continue the grind. -

TuataraI didn't even realize you lost marks on death, I thought it was just growth. Losing marks seems a bit much. I'd like to see that feature removed

ClintI think it should ask you if you wish to loose growth OR if you have the marks to cover the growth loss only loose marks. This way people can choose to either regrow and keep their marks OR spend marks to keep their growth.
