AI Creatures
AI creatures and critters have been long anticipated and it would be very helpful for new players when growth is implemented and makes for more interesting gameplay.

Anonymous AvocadoThis might add more atmosphere aswell and makes the game more realistic to play. If you walk around the map, its quite empty and finding dead bodys isnt as exciting as actually hunting down your pray. The dead bodies could also be removed after some good AI has been added into the game. You arent a scavanger anymore but a hunter that actually searches or listens for pray.

madceratophryidThis is already planned! Please don't clog up suggestions with confirmed features or asking devs to release things sooner :(

AnonymousaurusThis is the most important feature of them all. Without it the world is empty. Without it moving around and doing your stuff is boring and with no sense of danger. Without it the quest system is stupid ("you are a Daspletosaurus, you collect nuts!"). Without it they can't add nesting and growth, because carni players need preys to raise nestlings. Without it the game is no different to other beautiful-in-theory boring-in-practice dino games out there.

friend.codeThis is the most sorely needed feature, can't bring myself to sign on without it.

Lyndorielit is becoming urgent to add AI. For months that I have been playing the game (including a big 2-month break because I can't take KOS anymore), I don't see much change ... Worse, the game is gradually emptying of its "goodies" "players while the Kosers are still there ... So 2 choices are available to you: either you go aimless, alone, on a huge map, or you join the hot spots to meet other dinos (and therefore players) to get killed right away by your own kind for no reason ... It's just horribly frustrating in an MMORPG !! Add AI quickly. The population of players who remain in majority ruins the game. The juvenile system and others and the like can still take a back seat when we see the abnormally empty map and the behavior of the players!

DragonbornAI should definetly be one of the next new additions to the game. It makes the game even more immersive because of new quest possibilities. Something that could make AI creatures even more interesting is adding color variations to each species, eg. Small lizards that come in 3 color variants.
And I think some feature should be added where you can get an AI critter in your homecave too, as others have suggested.
I think that AI that could potentially pose a threat could be added too. For instance AI that will try to fight back. I'm just not sure how this could be balanced. -

GueriOThe growth sytem made the game really intereting, now I finally enjoy playing it. But Ais is a must and I await their arrival with impatience. I'm just waitng for this game to dethrone the Isle once and for all!

Snoopy DogYou could also use hatchling or juvenile versions of Dinosaurs as AI's in the game!
-

NateAgreed. One cool AI that they could add as a food source for smaller carnivores is the Inostrancevia, a reptile-like mammal that had saber tusks. It was roughly the size of a large black bear, maybe larger, and could pose as a potential food source for Megalania primarily.

PocoIf I was to given the chance to implement some of the A.I. I’d do this. Have sauropod nesting sites (2-5) on the map. Depending on your creature you would have different missions when entering the area. Egg stealing for small Carnies and young large one to perhaps, food deliveries for herbis, and maybe even “slay a sauropod” for a large carnivores. I would make these mission hard for both factions. Egg stealing could very well get you stomped on. Food delivery could be long distance or just ALOT of food. Sauropods themselves should almost feel like boss’s with tight hit boxes and readable moves for players to doge. These sites would be lucrative and dangerous due too the naturally high player density. The sauropods also should not take kindly to large herbivores sticking around for to long either. As for the kind of sauropod, diplodocus is an obvious choice. Of course that’s my opinion and it’s up to the devs. Hell if amargassurs can’t be balanced use it! Anyhow thx for reading my rant

Ashi support this not only for easy food but since most players concentrate on one area(like spined lizard lagoon area) is hard to actually "hunt" an herb/predator player as either small or big so having actual AI groups that play immersive that migrate and even hunt players immersive that would be nice and also have Apex predators that are big and act like mini bosses so that players can collab with each other to beat it and have unique rewards (after all it is still a game)

Jimothy jimberson the anodontosaurisI have a few suggestions for A.I. first I found out about a pretty cool little creature that seems like it could fit as a critters A.I: araripesuchus, and a scansoriopteryx. Araripesuchus would be simple cuz its just like normal critter A.I that spawns from a burrow, but scansoriopteryx, being arboreal, may require more tricks like shaking trees to make them fall and catch them, or maybe even climb them for some predators. Other than that, I dont have any suggestions

PaulAI controlled Dinosaurs in single player mode is deffo needed and would be a great addition to the game
-

DjguyIntroducing AI dinos, arthropods, and critters (rather than having to dig burrows) will make the game feel more populated and alive. I love this game, but you can spend hours playing it and not encounter another dinosaur.
-

Anthony-SaurPlaying solo isn't much fun without other dinosaurs that can attack or help you out. So this is a great idea!
-

xFallenAI could be cool to see some species herding together. And when you are the same species as dinos in a herd could potentially travel along with them. Can cut back on griefing a bit.
And in places like the Grasslands a few brontosaurus spawns for more intense fights for carnivores and a good xp grind for them.
As well as it would be nice if corpses lasted a bit longer and gave more food, if a player moves too far then the corpse disappears.
Also it be nice to have herbivores be able to eat more of the plant life other than a few berry bushes.
And if nesting and mating is a thing can we see some sort of visual difference between females and males of species. -

MrPinkAdventuresSo having AI dinosaurs wondering around the environment would give a whole lot more life to the Single Player especially but the multiplayer would benefit too especially for servers that're brand new and have a low player count. Now I still believe that the dinosaurs should be scattered as opposed to other Dinosaur titles that have them jam packed everywhere and it causes lag. If the Dinosaur AI are added i also would like them to follow the same rules of behavioral patterns as we do. Meaning eating, resting and causally roaming areas. I don't want them too aggressive or too passive, I want them to feel real not dumb like ARK!!!

GaliohSomeone in the lower vote threads suggested something like alpha boss AI fight, which I think would be cool. However, I think the main idea here is to add more AIs for food, bring more life to the map, and possibly introduce global events that Dinos can gather or avoid in a specific location to fight something like an alpha for exclusive cosmetics or cave rewards.

RenaNovaYes, this game needs AI dinos! Would be lovely if you could court with AI dino and have offspring to look after and protect
-

John GallantFor this to work, I think there would have to be a group of players in a party, & they would have to find these AI’s in game, & have to defeat the dominant male in the heard, then they can gain dominance of that herd, & the AI should have a behavior of eating, & drinking to stay alive, & when a carnivore shows up, each species/or species type, should have its own way of defending itself, such as running, or circling around the offspring. & I think that if there could be a balance, such as if there is a lob sided amount of herbivores or carnivores in the server, this could be used to make up the difference & improve the quality of game play.

Mathew PapworthWill be a good idea IMO especially if there’s carnivores as well might help stop people camping as well these people rolling around terrorising people will always have to watch there backs as the apex ai will be programmed to behave like Apex carnivores so they can’t just sit and camp be more realistic, Obviously we’ll all have to be carful but if you can enter in a scent tracking/trace system will help everyone.

Doyaduku_beThis is one of the most important features that needs to be added. It gives juvie Dinos a chance to grow and not be constantly targeted. It will also help with combat experience and basic mechanics while hunting. Immersion seems to be what a majority of people are looking forward to and this will be a big jump in the right direction.

D3TR0SI deasagree with that, because the servers will have to much stuff in the map that going cos alot laggy things and crash like Ark survival. Thing about it prefer played with players over the AI

Cosmic PressureI think a lot of people would like to see a sandbox mode where we can create our dinosaurs and place them in a biome, and then have the ability to play as them, with them, or attack them. I think this would really increase the play time because of the endless possibilities that people can come up with. This feature should also feature a intimidation/respect aspect based off scars and fights won. With each increasing level, the dino can gain status and recruit ai dinos to its pack or lose status and be challenged by members of the pack by allowing a member to starve, dehydrate, or get eaten. If the dino is extremely respected, ai dinos should show instant signs of hostility (tucking tail, defensive stance, run/attack on sight). I also would recommend permadeath in this mode, and also death from old age. I would recommend this because once youre an adult, the quests dont matter as much. I would suggest adding generational buffers from breeding that modifies size, strength, speed, etc.

RedSavageagree with AI dino in sigle player as well
-

DutchsweetshidYes cool, with 200 players and AI it might get laggy...
But egg stealing from AI dragons using a ptera in Ark was one of the coolest and scariest things i have ever done in any game ,ever.
Stealing it from a AI and or player Trex or Bronto POT style could be
truly epic.
So maybe not all roaming, but area mission AI...and a boss -
05 Dec, '22
FurbyIMO this is the most desperately needed addition to the game. The map is huge and empty, it feels lifeless without ai creatures. It will give juvie dinos something to do instead of just running around
-
08 Dec, '22
omThat would be a great thing. Currently as a carnivore searching burrows and hunt rats is super boring. There should be more AI dinos which not only would be a food, but they could also be able to strike back and kill some unexperienced hunters.

aharttsxAI is sorely needed to help improve both multiplayer and solo play. Both modes suffer from the issue of maps feeling extremely empty, and with solo mode in particular, there's nothing that poses any threat to the player or anything to interact with beyond quests and maintaining basic needs. Ai would help make the maps to feel much more alive, add environmental variety by the spawning of less commonly played species, provide more reliable carnivore food sources at greater risk compared to critters, and could very easily tie into the quest rework to make them more enjoyable. Would be cool if there would be varying levels of AI in terms of strength, like most would be normal dinos, but they'd infrequently spawn as an elite/alpha variant that could function like a boss of sorts that could give bonus marks/growth or something when killed.

StygianImplementing AI dinosaurs acting as a herd, pack, scavengers, solos, etc around the map would make single player mode a LOT less boring and as a bonus it would bring a more realistic experience to multiplayer servers with new dinos to eat and avoid besides other players- in case no players are on at that particular time. I definitely agree with MrPinkAdventures on the 'keep them low in number and scattered about the map' to keep lag down. E.g.- Only two or three small herbi herds, an Apex or two, and a pack or two of some sort (hunters or scavengers) at a time, roaming acting as animals do.
I personally think having herbivore packs act like herbivore packs, scavengers try to steal food, pack dinos hunting appropriately, and Apexes behaving in specific ways depending on what the player is would be fantastic immersion. E.g.- Apex Ai spots player Apex, aggressive advance. Apex Ai spots very small carnivore, ignores the creature. Etc. -

Envirobridge98The Ai definitely needs to be more than just the critters in burrows. We need actual Dinos to hunt that aren’t players
-
12 Feb
EnvirobridgeNot just to hunt now that I think about it. I think ai herd interactions and tactics could add a really cool dimension to gameplay. Also some more atmospheric ai would be great. Maybe some small birds and pterosaurs? Also insects other than dragonflies, moths, & butterflies?
-

WolfgangWolvesWe need Better AI than critters as in dinos and playable dinos !!
-
21 Mar
Envirobridge98Ai carns would be difficult to implement but I think they could have a hunger tick system to where they only actively seek food if they’re significantly hungry and otherwise either avoid players or if slightly hungry go after the player if it gets too close

KillthemAllIdfc if is good or bad AI, I just need something added to SinglePlayer, Because this game have one of the worst Communities I have ever seen
-

Red FoxThe concept of dinosaurs doing tasks is bizarre. Totally immersion breaking. Remove the tasks and replace with AI. Staying alive and eating is more than enough for your average dinosour.

Puck DoodleWith the fact that you have played around with the food drain now, it makes it really difficult to play as a carnivore. I mostly play on community servers and now, due to the fact that there are not always full servers, it gets to be a struggle to survive as a carnivore when there is no food. If you are going to make things more difficult then you should either put in AI creatures for carnivores to hunt (and not completely rely on people being there for them to hunt) or up the amount of food critters give.
If they can do it in the Isle then you can do it in here. -

LizRoseI was playing alone to test out the game and it was strange not seeing any other AI. I would LOVE the option when you start a solo server, or with friends, to tick a box for herbivores and a separate box for aggro carnivores. That way, carnivore players have more food, and herbivore players have a bit more immersion and/or incentive to survive.

Viking katzThis would be a very wise ideal as it would give a more realistic approach and would be able to put you more into what your doing it would also protect some player's who are not into player VR player so they can choose to hide among herd's and or hunt something more filling for larger predators like the spinosaurus and T-Rex

YorlshireGobboI fully support the push to get proper AI dinosaurs added into the game, if only to make single player a genuinly playable game mode.
I personally play PoT to chill out and relax, with the occasional burst of stealth gameplay/hunting if I come across something, but online the skill difference between myself and very experienced players and frequent KOSing can make it hard to relax into a session sometimes. Realistic AI for single player would allow me and others like me the option to immerse ourselves in PoT reliably, without the chance of being griefed, when we don't feel like going for multiplayer.
Loving the game so far! -

Hermon AnthonyThis will help growing communities big time as well with low player population. Literally most people just want something to interact with and hunt and AI will fill that void. I play the Isle Evrima as well and that is one of the major additions they did to the game that took it next level and made the empty world much more interesting. This is well overdue and should be a priority for PoT. I have been growing a community for about 7 months now and I hear alllll the time not only from inside my little community but externally in the public communities as well people begging for AI.
Little critters etc arent enough. We need stuff that puts up a little fight, that fills that void. This will only add to the game not take away. It is a struggle trying to grow a community that isn't high population. This will help fill that void and bring more consistent players in. -

Michele34yes absolutely, I think that putting about fifty NPC dinosaurs around the map of any species (terrestrial, flying and aquatic) would enrich this fantastic title not a little👍👍

Hunty33AI creatures are already amazing in the sea and ponds I saw on Gondwa! It is nice to see all the different fishes and sometimes big groups that are being eaten by other fishes!!! I guess it is planned to have something similar on earth, we already have the little dens and all. But it is true that it'd be great to have here or there a few more bird creatures (whatever was the kind of birds at this time) or giant insects, maybe creatures of the den going out during night to create a bit more life in the surrounding? But what you did guys is already amazing, i'm just excited to where this world is going!!

Greg_the_LlamaWhen more AI critters are added, paleo-accurate creatures would be wonderful. Onchopristis in the rivers. Ammonites, jellyfish, and coelacanth in the oceans. And more.
